@amxmln @tl I haven't used NNW, but Reeder just worked really great so far and offers a great reading experience, so I haven't had a reason to switch.

But if the dev ever stops supporting the classic Reeder version, NNW definitely is an interesting choice. Does it have any features that you specifically like compared to other readers?

2025-01-26

@tl @amxmln iirc, you were actually the person who recommended it to me :D

2025-01-26

@amxmln yeah, I'm still using Reeder Classic, tried the new Reeder as well but it felt too much like a social media feed😅

Reeder Classic is still great and gets updates, hope it stays that way🤞

@amxmln @nate I've also been using feeeed on and off for the past few months and have found it very pleasant to use as well.

But I have the same fear as you, plus it sometimes feels a bit *too* gimmicky for an RSS reader. I don't know if that makes sense, but I've found that for myself, although it's not perfect, Reeder does what it's supposed to do very well and it's well established, so I chose to stay :)

This image shows a simple but encouraging illustration about seasonal daylight changes. It features a hand-drawn timeline spanning the "10 darkest weeks of the year," with a large yellow sun rising/setting above a horizontal blue line representing the horizon. The timeline marks three key dates:

1. November 16th
2. Winter Solstice (December 21st)
3. January 22nd

The period is divided into two 5-week segments on either side of the winter solstice. At the top of the image, there's a handwritten message that reads "You Made It Through," suggesting this is meant to be an encouraging reminder that one has persevered through the darkest period of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

The illustration uses a minimalist watercolor style, with the sun depicted in yellow and the horizon line in light blue. The text is all handwritten in a casual style, giving the image a personal, journal-like quality.

@koehn Setapp is 100% worth it if you can afford it!

Just for apps like Ulysses, CleanshotX, Noteplan and now Paper itself.

TIL that the term “kakistocracy” exists – greek for “government by the worst people”.

Might or might not be from an article that discusses current events, who knows 🤷‍♂️

@jedda this is actually a technique I regularly use when I don't feel like going for a run 😂

Just telling myself that I simply have to get dressed and warm up, and then I will be allowed to get back inside. But that sounds silly, so I always run afterwards.

2025-01-23

@jedda thanks, Jedda!

Yeah, I believe the circumstances don't matter that much – it's just a good coping mechanism for whenever you need to feel a bit calmer.

@jimniels Great observation, reminds me of rubber duck debbuging 🦆

Haven't made the connection to AI though. Maybe there should be an AI chat where the bot replies with 3h delays, so you can work through the problem yourself ;)

@koehn Great job!

I wish I had started my blog at your age when I first got into web dev. Mine has only been around for ~1 year, and it's already great to go back in time and read old posts.

Hope you'll have the same feeling :)

I had my first #cs exam at uni today 🙌

Was a bit short on time in the end, but overall have a good feeling that it turned out well :)
