“May we all find peace in our lives—not as a distant dream, but as a quiet presence here and now, in the small, sacred moments that make up our days. May we find it in the soft breath between worry and calm, in the choice to speak with gentleness, and in the brave decision to let go of what we cannot change.”

Buddhistdoor Quote for Today: The whole thing, so many practices, all come down to living daily life with bodhicitta motivation to put all the effort into that whatever you do. This way your life isn’t wasted and becomes full of joy and happiness, with no regrets later, especially when you die, and you can die with a smile outside and a smile in the heart. — Lama Zopa Rinpoche (1945–2023)

A day today, so I won't be going out on a walk. Fine opportunity to reflect on things I'm grateful for. Among them is this happy little ; I've re-strung him twice in the years I've worn him, but he still brings a smile to my face.

Thanks again to @moonrabbit and to her excellent little shop at driftingspirits.art - you're doing great work.

Stay kind,
C

An elderly nun in Nepal told me something I needed to hear.

Waking grateful for breath, that's enlightenment. Choosing kindness when tired. Ten thousand small moments, not one big awakening.

What small moment today did you choose presence?

I asked my teacher 'How long until I understand?' He laughed, genuinely amused.

'The question is the practice.' I wanted guidance, not riddles.

What shifted for you when you stopped seeking answers in your practice?

This morning I tried to stay in bed and rest, but the cravings hit hard. Dopamine so low I could barely stay alert on the road. Now I’m at my safe café, frozen inside myself, watching a movie I can’t follow, thoughts detached from my body. Withdrawals are hard, but I keep showing up.

I write from insight — if you want to follow along, subscribe.

Hip openers made me anxious despite years of practice.

Van der Kolk showed me muscles hold memory, bodies store trauma.

What has your body been trying to tell you through resistance or discomfort?
