@osuosl provides hosting to the QEMU project and many others. What they do: free hosting for open source projects, not tied to a commercial product/service, and students gain experience by working there. They are unique and worth supporting!
@richlitt thanks a lot for stepping in and helping us keep going during this period. Don't be a stranger!
@bragefuglseth thank you so much for editing the videos! ❤️
A panel session with @AleixPol, @felipeborges, @swick and @alatiera on our app ecosystem and the future of #Linux distributions:
We have finally retired the old #gnomeos installer image, and replaced it with the new live image. So now you can actually test GNOME OS before you install it. Get it at https://os.gnome.org/
I feel like moderation issues are a lot like CVEs.
Do we expect an established FOSS project to have a working process for CVEs? Yes, absolutely. You can not really rely on a project without one.
Do we have to punish any volunteer-driven FOSS project for not having/following a CVE process and not being able to address it immediately when you ask for it? No.
We should give space for "not that mature" FOSS projects, and let them learn and develop the missing policies and workflows.
By the way, I still think this paragraph I wrote is a pretty good paragraph.
I will never understand the fear of “overreacting” to Nazism. You’re worried about being too alert to genocidal ideology? That’s like worrying the fire alarm is being rude to the flames.
@zana @blandford that's awesome! Congratulations! ❤️❤️
@bugaevc thanks a lot for watching the talk, testing, and the Vala fix!

Hiring for Flatpak Automation
The desktop team in Red Hat has another open position. We’re looking for someone to work on Flatpak automation, for someone who enjoys working on infrastructure. Although the job description states 2+ years of experience, it’s suitable for juniors. Formal experience can be replaced by relevant open source contributions. Being onsite in Brno, Czech Republic is preferred, but not required. We’re open to hiring good candidates elsewhere, too.
If you’d like to know more about the job before formally applying, don’t hesitate to contact me on Mastodon, Signal, Matrix (@eischmann at fedora.im), or email.
Great panel discussion underway about Flatpak and the future of Linux desktops!
