Mushrooms seen in late Spring in the Chesapeake Watershed (near sea level, central Maryland, USA)

Gainfully unemployed, wife, house, 2 kids (fled), dog and cat (RIP) ... the whole catastrophe. I spent 40 years practicing US #PublicContractLaw, #FiscalLaw, and other #AdministrativeLaw in #DC. Now on to pursuits other than #Law, like further cultivating an extensive #Music collection, #Literature, #Art, #Film, #Walking, occasional #Hiking, and maintaining #Fitness and #MentalHealth despite the ravages of time. @finserra @finserra https://bsky.app/profile/finserra

@MarkSquiresWine I think these dogs have been raised to call an Uber.

Just to test its capabilities, I periodically ask various engines to write essays of topics well known to me. It fails miserably in terms of accuracy and depth. Lots of buzz words, fifth grade filler material, and outright falsehoods. Iβm not seeing it (yet, anyway).
Chesapeake Watershed, late Spring. Eastern Box Turtles everywhere. By the I-270 wooded runoff perimeter, Exit 5 in Rockville, MD.
This is the fabulously energetic Alaska, who I met on a sidewalk in the center of Rockville, MD USA. #Mondog #Mondogs #Dog #Dogs #dogsofmastodon
I didn't catch this little friend's name, but s/he was photogenic enough for posterity. Wootten Mill Park, Rockville, MD, USA
On the front foot benefit of my street in Rockville, MD USA. They are everywhere after the rain (and lots of rain there has been). #FungiFriday
Saw this little guy crazily running around unattended in a front foot area abutting Federal Boulevard, a very busy street in Denver, CO, USA. I was worried for him, so I scouted around some nearby neighborhoods. Saw a guy cleaning out his trunk and asked if he knew who owned him. He said, yeah, he's mine. I asked if he was alright so close to Federal. The guy said he's a smart little dog and knows how to keep safe in the neighborhood. Alrighty then.
@edsantos My position since the dawn of AI is that it will be the Lawyers Full Employment Act of the 21st Century. Yours is an interesting twist, but the number of contractual, mechanical, and business errors and damages that will fall out from its use will be incalculable. Just look at how it auto-captions videos. Best comedy I've seen in years.
I was told the corporations closing down or short-shrifting their RSS platforms were engaged in a market reaction, that every source would have its own executable app, and that I should celebrate. I knew it was crap then, and, if youβve been paying attention, you know it now. βJust download app.β Clutter. Junk. PPI scraping. Even Google, King of the Monetizers, used to have its beautiful, customizable, canvas mode in iGoogle. Junked for no good reason. Fuck your app.
Type of brittlegill mushroom, I think. Saw it yesterday after the rain in Rockville, MD, USA. Area used to be an apple orchard, and the old tree stumps are fecund. #FungiFriday
If you don't want to be compared to the Gestapo, one neat trick is to not engage in a campaign of terror around the country wherein you kidnap people off the streets to slave dungeons in accommodation of an autocratic fascist and his nationalist movement's desire for racial purity.
@BobWilliams I did retire, and I know what you mean. I see a relentless parade of remarks and well-wishing that assiduously avoids discussing or even referencing the breakdown of democracy and Constitutional order in the United States, as if it has or will have nothing to do with their business lives or occupations.
This is a picture of Pretzel resting on his favorite pillow (of Pretzel). Denver, CO, USA April, 2025

Two entries today on this #FungiFriday. Mushrooms growing profusely from the stump of a tree (at least 130 years old) in front of an historic house at the intersection of West Montgomery Avenue and Great Falls Road in Rockville, MD USA. The other is some bark fungus climbing up a tree in a wooded area adjoining exit 5 off I-270 (also in Rockville).
This is Bridgette, who we met in McFall Park in Westminster, CO, USA. #Mondog #Mondogs #Dog #Dogs #dogsofmastodon
We saw this little feline traveler preparing to return from a picnic table to her car at a rest area on Interstate 70 in Indiana, USA.
Seen in the Lower Highlands section of Denver, CO, USA after the snow and rapid melt off, as so often happens in Denver. #FungiFriday
