tl;dr: We trimmed human TRPV1 so it wakes up at ~41°C. Brief near‑IR “warm‑pulses” made ganglion cells in blind human retina explants fire graded spikes—no opsins, no nanoparticles, just AAV + human protein. Early‑stage, clean thermal control.
