@carlysagan @profdc9 It's so much BS that a proposal entirely written by a LLM has probably a good chance of getting funded.

We managed to trap two feral kittens tonight!
Got my flu vaccine and my 9th Covid vaccine! đź’‰
@DrPlanktonguy Hm, I've submitted many this year and every single submission went through the first time. 🤷‍♂️
@DrPlanktonguy Huh? I never had an issue with any of my apps?
I really don't like the new design of the WeatherCan app. There are plenty of other weather apps out there but I want the old WeatherCan app back!
Environment Canada shares all the raw data in a nice XML file. So I quickly hacked together a proof of concept in #SwiftUI that looks exactly like the old one. Would anyone be interested in joining forces to create an #opensource #iOS app with the look and feel of the old WeatherCan app?

I don't want "town halls" or "fireside chats," these internal gatherings where university admin feed us insipid lines inspired if not actually prepared by PR consultants telling us about the extent of faculty and staff excellence and their own deep commitment to equity. Could we have some accountability - even if only a tiny bit - instead?
Judging by my app’s download numbers, the #comet is definitely fading!
@MichaelPorter I've submitted some feedback. The message shown on the screen suggests this function might not be working ...
I've finally figured out a way to avoid people "reacting" to my e-mails (a Microsoft Outlook feature)! Thunderbird can add custom headers when sending e-mails. The magic header is "x-ms-reactions: disallow" which you can add in the config editor (see screenshot. "id2" might be different depending on your setup).
I can't say I like the redesign of the Canada Weather app. Information density is down. Contrast is down.
@jaztrophysicist @stdevel @DimitriFayolle Correct ;-)
Today's harvest #gardening
There is a public consultation on Doug Ford's attempt to give the province control over municipal bike lanes. This includes banning all bike lanes that require removal of a car lane.
It will also force municipalities to provide data on any existing bike lanes which Ford made clear he intends to remove in future legislation
Tell him what you think!
@aosmith16 I don't know. It's a random mix! I got some of them as seedling from a farm nearby, some of them I grew from last year's seeds...
I harvested almost 1kg of dry beans this year. #gardening
My “teaching philosophy” is to teach a course the way I would have enjoyed it as a student. Often that doesn’t agree with how my current students would like me to teach. I’m any case, students are writing the midterm today and I brought everyone a small pastry from the Italian bakery down the street.
Latest #woodworking project is finished! Made from ash. It can be assembled and disassembled without tools. A headboard is also in the works but I haven’t decided on the design yet. Slats are from IKEA.
#Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS was not as bright as I expected, but still clearly visible by eye and it looks good on pictures!
