For any of my Durham friends, the board of elections has some upcoming sessions about the new NC voter id requirement: https://www.dcovotes.com/home/showpublisheddocument/39430/638296912107730000 Also, the primary election is coming up October 10th!
Started playing Stray Gods tonight on my Switch. I only finished act one, but I’m enjoying the storyline so far, and the singing is very good! I’m hoping to romance Persephone. https://www.summerfallstudios.com/stray-gods
No, academics do not "forget" to answer emails. They remember and feel bad about them, the guilt slowly building up, until the only way out is to fake their own death and move far, far away under a different identity to build a new life, a better one, with inbox zero and no shame
Anyways, I owe you an email.
@beckett They pair up with local restaurants and food trucks. You pre-order and then pick it up on Friday at a time you select. Often they have a house made dessert too that you can add! I’ve gotten to try some interesting new places. For example, one week they had Laotian food! They also do soups on Wednesday.
I’ve been really enjoying doing the Friday dinner pickups @locopopsdurham We had great bbq from Lawrence BBQ and this yummy peach cobbler!
@ovenall I’m finally starting to work through my backlog of games that arose during the pandemic!
@ovenall I finally got to try Calico! It was fun, and really pretty to look at!

Pitcher plant luring an insect in!
@autumn Carolina Beach State Park near Wilmington. It was a really neat hike!
Mission accomplished! Saw pitcher plants and venus flytraps!
I think we’ve had so much rain that we now have a mushroom farm in our front yard.
@pam I’m glad I’m not the only one with mixed feelings! Going to in-person conferences has been very valuable and nourishing for me in the past, and I have met such great people. But I’m increasingly concerned about the environmental impact of me taking those flights. I may try to take a train for the next MLA convention (though that only really works when I’m on the same coast).
@ovenall I swam exactly the time I had intended to do, but I did take a lot of joy in seeing him leave the pool before I was done!
@ovenall They look good!
@heathborders I did swim longer than him, so there’s that :)
@Wordnerdy I think so too! I think she liked the clock but then chatted more in solidarity :)
Also, I’m grateful for that random woman.
