We should be on guard for how language we were taught to use, how we think of education, influences how we offer education.

In any given classroom, students are operating at different speeds of learning because we're not all clones of one another.

When a pandemic happens, something that traumatized everyone to one extent or another, why do we say someone's "behind" rather than that already-extent inequities are exacerbated by pandemic & choices management types made before and during this ongoing pandemic worsened outcomes?

In this case, it's more like wealth put some kids even further ahead.

Focusing on "behind" allows folks to continue to stereotype poor/BIPOC/disabled kids. Flip it, for once.
