@mcchessers Have you tried removing & replacing the CMOS battery? That would reset the BIOS, in case there's a hiccup there.
It looks like it's on the side of the board with the RAM slots, and is a standard CR2032. Might not fix it, but it's worth a shot!
@adisonverlice Yep! We collaborate with several manufacturers, check them out: https://www.ifixit.com/collaborations

@g_boccia We long for the pre-AirPods days, when we didn't worry about people's earbuds only lasting a few years before their glued-in battery wore out 😢
@DaMu Its screen-to-body ratio would bring nightmares to tech reviewers worldwide.
Shoutout to the marketing ‘expert’ who mailed a large, battery-powered, LCD-equipped video greeting card to our CEO to demonstrate their innovative approach to ignoring the #ewaste crisis. Bold strategy.
We’ll be sure to reach out if we need help shipping steaks and leather handbags to PETA.
Rumor has it the thinnest #iPhone ever will launch this year. The previous record-holder was the iPhone 6, at just 6.9 mm thick. Here’s a reminder of what that looked like!
The EU is introducing an energy label for phones, together with mandatory requirements for phones sold in the EU;
- 5 years of software updates (AFTER they stop selling the device in the EU)
- providing important hardware parts (during sale and for 7 years after), including free software (if needed), to every repair shop, within 5-10 business days
- batteries have to make 800 charging cycles and still be above 80% original capacity
And on top of that, phones and tablets need this energy label (which also includes a fall damage durability and repairability score), and abide by the above requirements, from 20 June 2025.

@Gammitin That top photo of a ThinkPad without a TrackPoint is truly terrifying.
Happy National Telephone Day!
Instead of continually chasing upgrades, what if we kept our smartphones for 5 years? How about 10?
That’s the mission we’re on with Back Market:

Happy 10th birthday, #Apple Watch!
It's a cool device, but not very repairable. But Apple's original, analog watch from 1995? Now that's a timepiece you can actually fix. Plus, you don't have to worry about software updates!
The longest an Apple Watch has ever received updates is the Series 4, which got nearly 6 years of support before being sunset last year.
It's a shame that Apple's "most personal device ever" still relies on them to be useful. Even if you can #fix it, you don't truly own it.
