What you’re looking for is called a _Style Guide_ and good luck on getting everyone to agree. However, this does seem like a good idea for a para-RFC type model for writing standards for data.

If you yield the touchscreen ban, find a Sony Walkman NW-a55. They’re easy to import from Japan, a tool from Rockbox unlocks the language selector, and it has **hardware playback buttons*.
Legitimately wanted what you’re looking for a while ago, ended up finding the nw-a55, and other than the odd connector (which has ✨accessories✨) it’s a fuckigng fantastic piece of work.

I have several of these for several components purely because it's cheaper to waste the board space to handle both 1206 and 0604 parts and let the board house pick their preferred package.
