Remember the story about clinical trial data in the #EHDS? Well, it happened. For context, EPP wants the slightest modifications possible to the proposal and the EPP (shadow) rapporteurs have, so far, submitted ~50 minor amendments. Except one.

New policy brief on the #EHDS summarising key points and suggesting amendments. Feel free to circulate to colleagues, MEPs, and journalists working in this area. Many thanks to UCL Faculty of Laws, Lucy Shackleton and @israblack for the support throughout this process. ucl.ac.uk/laws/sites/laws/file

Nothing signals a country at ease with itself more than the preemptive arrest of people protesting the coronation of a hereditary monarch. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Spot the difference: on the left @UCEA1, on the right @ukhesa. And yes, that's the dodgy @USSpensions deficit from 2020 now being used to justify pay suppresion as well as pension cuts! Unbelievable. Shame on you, @RKJethwa. #ucuRISING twitter.com/ucu/status/1654032

We are urging them to rethink - and end - their recommendation of a 50-100% wage cut during @ucu's marking and assessment boycott.

It’s a horrorshow. Here at UCL, we’re facing a flat rate of 36.5 days loss of salary for what could be as little as a few hours work boycotted. Cruel, intimidatory and wildly disproportionate. #ucuRISING #ucuMab twitter.com/drkaitclark/status

🚨BREAKING: @CWUnews have reached an agreement with Royal Mail.

Royal Mail have confirmed they will not introduce owner-drivers. Royal Mail say they have no plans to become a gig-economy employer. Uberisation effectively abandoned.

Yet to be voted on by members.

Strategic litigation often begins defensively as a necessary response to employer actions. In Wilson v UK, the litigation started when the union sought to protect its members from discrimination in the workplace. The union lost plenty. It stayed the course and won in the end.

RT @ucu
Today, UCU members at 145 universities in the UK begin a marking and assessment boycott (MAB)

To support members through the action we have created a new web page containing FAQs, advice, and guidance for branches challenging deductions

UCL making a play for the shittiest response to #ucuRISING Marking and Assessment Boycott (#MAB) by deducting 50% pay for *10 weeks*, including 4 weeks when ordinarily no marking takes place.

Staff have one week to notify whether they’re going to scab.

RT @SeethingMead
I am sure that as a matter of human rights law, if the issue of 50%-100% pay deductions were to come before a court now, the result would be this: an employer who makes, or indeed threatens, such disproportionate deductions has acted unlawfully.
