Acts of simple sabotage, multiplied by thousands of citizen- saboteurs, can be an effective weapon against the enemy.

SIM swap attacks allow hackers to steal someone's phone number and break into any online account connected to that number, usually by tricking a carrier's customer support.

The good news is it's easy to lock down your phone number and takes just a minute or two.

A guy who I've known many decades said that my embrace of the far left had lowered his opinion of me a lot.

We were talking about wealth taxes, qua my earlier post about 90% tax rates. But not just income taxes, estate taxes, real estate taxes, generally speaking, asset taxes.

The billionaire class has to cease to exist. What the bootlickers defending them seem to not understand, is that this is the *nice* way to make that happen.

With Mastodon v4.4.0 instance owners can enable HTTP referrers. That means:

If somebody clicks a link in a Mastodon post (e.g. to a news article), the link target owner (such as the news site operator) can see that a user from that instance has visited their website.

They do _only_ get the instance domain (e.g. metalhead.club). No information about the user!

I've enabled this setting, because I am sure that it will increase awareness of Mastodon's existence. 💪

Speaking up is scary. Challenging fascism is terrifying.

That’s why it must be done.

I posted about a Canadian woman and mother of three being held in ICE custody after being grabbed at her green card interview.

She was at the final step towards legal citizenship when they took her.

I spoke about the lack of due process. The unfairness of a system that punishes those trying to play by the rules.

I called for her to be returned to Canada.

What happened? I spent the entire day getting posts and messages from folks saying they hope I get abused by an “illegal”.

Death and r*pe threats.

Called the most horrible names imaginable.

It’s been awful for my nervous system, but it also goes to show how badly those in power want to silence the opposition.

This is what bullies do.

They intimidate. They threaten. They scare.

I’m fiercely proud of everyone who keeps speaking up in the face of so much hate.

I’m proud of the incredible community here that believes in fighting for freedom for everyone.

Keep fighting. You are never alone.
