**LAUNCH** of #ClimateDiary
Hashtag
I've been thinking for a while that it would be good to have a collective Climate Diary (along the lines of the Sussex Mass Observation project): people from across the world recording and sharing everyday observations, experiences, thoughts, feelings relating to the #ClimateCrisis
I would like to try out simply using a #Hashtag - #ClimateDiary - here on #Mastodon to create this and I would like to invite you all to join in and share widely! 1/4
A Few Thoughts on Guarding Your Mental Health These Days
"Most of what passes for mental health advice involves suppressing negative emotions and pretending to be happy for the sake of others. Those of us who refuse to play along are labeled “negative” and identified as a threat."

@VicTheMac You're welcome, Vicki. Really glad you went!
Last week I had the great pleasure of visiting the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle for the 1st time. What a treat - so many brilliant pieces, including some @RNLI inspired paintings ⚓️
'The Women' by John Charlton is spectacular (and huge! Difficult to convey in photos!)
I was also really moved by the 'These Are Our Treasures' exhibition (I was so engrossed, I forgot to take photos).
I'll be back very soon!
Thanks so much @jacklowe for the recommendation ✨️

Amid the looking, listening, learning, despairing and raging, I've built something new and I'm very pleased to share it with you.
I hope it helps us. All is explained here in my latest blog post called:

@breadandcircuses Indeed. I find Richard Crim's assertion much nearer the mark and the final paragraph is among the most affecting of all the words I've read not the topic:
This is George Orwell, from his novel "1984" -- talk about predicting the future!

@Joanie Wow! My wish has come true!
@KarlHeinzHasliP 4000 tonnes per year of CO₂ removal is a time machine that takes us back 3 seconds per year.
We've seen this many times before: motorists, etc, get frustrated by climate protests when they're immersed in their own unthinking daily grind, but set any 12 ordinary folks down with the time to actually listen to the case for protest - and they support it.
Over three billion people depend on marine and coastal ecosystems for their livelihoods.
And we are cooking the oceans.

Astronomers using the near-infrared vision of #NASAWebb found a lot of dust surrounding still-forming stars in NGC 346. Previously, researchers thought the Small Magellanic Cloud had very little.

@JohnAltringham Love it, John! 👏🏻
I usually paint the 'wilder' aspects of the countryside. I painted this #watercolour during a #pandemic #lockdown for our daughter who lives in #Edinburgh.
“Despite all the odds I am thankful that 12 of my fellow citizens were able to see the bigger picture and even when directed by the judge to find us guilty, they were able to understand that the unprecedented times in which we live calls for us all to step out of the box and make courageous decisions. Thank you jury.” ~ Rev Sue Parfitt (80) for #InsulateBritain
@ansolasoir I do indeed… ☺️💭
