Jaclyn Cosgrove

I'm a journalist at the Los Angeles Times.

Also: Okie, #nonbinary, they/them, #hiker, cyclist. 🌈Here and queer.

Very interested in mental health and illness, accountability journalism, vegan ice cream options in L.A., and hikes I can go on with my dog.

Kindness isn't always easy, but it's something I aspire to always practice.

Say hi, as I love meeting new folks!

Howdy pals! If you're curious about the overlap between #autism and #ADHD, take a minute to read this great piece from @latimes.

I learned a lot about #AuDHD.

I'm super proud of this #investigation by @latimes journalist Lila Seidman. Lila worked for six months on this first piece about how L.A. County is trying to prop up #988, the national #mentalhealth hotline answered locally, and related crisis services, but facing a lot of challenges.

It's worth your time to give it a read. #QuestionsWelcome.

@steve I hate when that happens! The good news is, you can now stream the whole first season on Hulu. The bad news is ... ABC is being wobbly about whether it'll renew it.

My wife said, "What if the purpose of this show wasn't to get ratings but instead to just provide good self care and support for journalists?" I loved that, even though, well, I don't know that I believe in Hollywood that much.

How do folks feel about the #TV show "Alaska Daily"? For me, I feel like it's the first time I'm really seeing a show that looks more like what I actually do as a #journalist. Sure, it can be cheesy, but there's some good stuff. And I love the dynamic of actors Hilary Swank and Grace Dove.

Overall, it reminds me of my days working at both the Sand Springs Leader and the Oklahoman.

Although I liked "The #Newsroom" I found it to be an overly idealistic take of how a newsroom works.

I appreciate this piece from journalist Judy Woodruff recognizing the Oklahoma City bombing anniversary by examining what extremism looked like when 168 people were murdered 28 years ago, and the parallels to what extremism looks like today.

Worth your time to watch.
