I've certainly been having fun with Suno this week. I've been able to explore how I would produce a bunch of different song genres with my own specific tastes and experimentation. From a technical aspect, #Suno is amazing. From a creative aspect, I'm still trying to wrap my head around its impact on the future of the #music industry.

@aeva I often prefer nano when I'm stuck using the terminal. There'd have to be a hostage situation in order to force me to use vi... lol.

We've passed the point of no return... #Suno

I just tried Suno... and it blew me away

As a #creative, I'm lost on words to describe how I think this will alter the paths of budding #musicians, #vocalists, & #songwriters, & those of future generations. #Suno is as radical a transformation as the phonograph.

@cy @existentialcomics Nice! Yep, I was using it 1996. It's been a long time.

2025-05-06

@cy @existentialcomics Yeah, and AOL sent out floppies and then CDs in the mail too... lol - that was quite a waste of resources since I never used them. After I graduated, I used a popular service to connect to the Internet over dial-up modem from home - Earthlink I think.

2025-05-06

@cy I never had those. I was just making a point of the tech that led to the modern Web, browsers, and its advancements - it wasn't all work done by non-profits. There were corporations involved, and that work led to other innovation in the Internet industry.

I used Archie on UNIX to access content on the Internet before Mosaic existed. I don't think I participated in any online news / user groups at the time.

I believe capitalism can be positive if used properly, like a mom & pop restaurant.

2025-05-06

@cy @cy @existentialcomics I don't remember if AltaVista had ads. I think Google Search and then its Chrome Web browser transformed the Web into today's current billboard.

UPDATE: I meant to include Google Ads also 🤦‍♂️

2025-05-06

@cy @existentialcomics I was there too.

2025-05-06

@jay @existentialcomics P.S. - I never liked using HyperCard at the time because I had a nice color Mac II system with a 1024 x 768 pixel monitor and, as I recall, HyperCard was only black & white and displayed its card deck at something like 800 x 600 or 640 x 480 resolution.
