started working on moving from tags to path sets

haven't fully implemented the path filter wildcards yet but this is what I've got so far

the text splines command has a path prefix, generating paths like: <prefix>/<char.index>/["fills"|"holes"]

this allowed targeting a single character with a "text/1/*" filter to transform all its polygons (1 fill and 1 hole) together

this effectively means that conditional tagging in the text command isn't usually needed

Dear game engine folks:

Has there ever been a Rectangular Cuboid shaped light casting volume in any game engine?

Problems we face: shadow casting with many lights are too expensive, but common light shapes leak way too much in a room without shadow, plus we can’t afford realtime-GI.

Are there any innovative solutions you have come across?

In 1987, COMPUTE! had an article called "Fractal Mountains for Amiga" that had a program in Amiga Basic for, well, generating fractal mountains.

Over the winter break I kinda fiddled with it a bit and started rewriting it in Go. Anyway, I couldn't sleep tonight and so I actually got it working.

So, I give you: Fractal Mountains for Amiga...in Go! The algorithm isn't 1:1, but it's pretty close.

figured that I should split hollow closed shapes into 2 arrays

this makes generating beveled corners, separate-normal corners and generating normals much easier

also added separate bevel corner sizes for inner/outer shapes

so that part of the whole thing seems to be entirely functional now

all that's left is to figure out how to map edges to materials in a sane and easy way

(the existing index-based method seems extremely unlikely to scale well)
