@stumblewyk i played it with my 7 year old. We had a blast, but were a bit loose on the rules. But the map and adventure cards and flavor were fantastic. I say go for it

@wundergeek I recognize that you have most likely moved on from this platform, but I just wanted to say:
I believe in you!
I don't know you, but I have heard you speak on the internet, and seen some of your games work, and it is very inspiring. big hearts to you!!!
@polishdub check out Shadowdark - it's d20-based - D&D simplified and streamlined - out of the box comes with HUGE solo-friendly selection of generators and tables. The author is currently working on an extensive solo expansion which is playtesting in the Arcane Library (home to shadowdark) discord. people are going nuts for it, because it's good :D
@wyrmworksdale
I love these!

Yes!
I've been having fun with my kids, letting them use their attributes as a sort of resource / dice pool.
i.e. they spend one point of strength to add a 1d6 to a strength check (and get 'em back when they rest).
Their attributes become another resource they have to manage, and their failures stem from consequences of previous decisions more than just luck (I can't do it! I exhausted all my strength pulling the statue out of the well!)
@Justinarevolution you checked out shadowdark yet? It strikes a nice balance in my experience.
@FollowMeAndDie @kensanata
Whaaa?
That's amazing!!
@3d6DTL I just wanted to say that I really appreciated the behind-the-scenes conversation in this one. Some real deep diving into GM philosophy and OSR-style approach. Rules vs Rulings, and how that builds community and relationships at the table. A fascinating look into when mechanics are supportive of the mission, and when they get in the way, without necessarily having ONE right answer. Y'all have so much experience between you - it was a truly inspiring conversation. THANK YOU
You want to make someone's day? Find an independent musician that intrigues you, then go spend an hour listening to one or two of their albums all the way through. I promise they'll see it and it'll change their day for the better. *Every* musicians' love language is "listen deeply to my music"!
Here's mine. You know, just in case.
