Though I'm no expert, I think I see some alcohol-induced dementia (perhaps Korsakoff syndrome).

It makes for an interesting show.

TV chefs have really gone downhill over the years, from Julia Child to the Swedish Chef to Gordon Ramsey.

Who's next? Hannibal Lecter?

I found the Facebook profile of this guy (β€œPeter Karasev”) who was just charged with bombing a power substation in San Jose. According to his profile, he is a software engineer with a PhD. And he’s from Moscow, Russia.

Let's recognize "wishing harm upon others" as the mental illness it is: sociopathy.

Once diagnosed, I'm sure it can be treated, or at least contained.

For example, we shouldn't trust sociopaths with driving cars, having guns, educating children, or holding public office.

The Fediverse has a vital inherent structural advantage. Alan Rozenshtein, U of Minn Law, calls it "content-moderation subsidiarity." Cory Doctorow expounds on this in:

@pluralistic: Solving the Moderator's Trilemma with Federation >>> pluralistic.net/2023/03/04/pic

"The fact that users can leave a server and set up somewhere else means that when a user gets pissed off enough... they can simply choose another server that's part of the same federation."

@GreenFire@climatejustice.social I'm just about to sign papers for a small (4kW DC) system.

The net metering program California has right now is very attractive. Right now, I can't justify the cost of a battery; if and when net metering goes away, I'd just add a battery and drop PG&E completely.

A prominent group of #nurses in #California slammed a state plan to rollback masking & #covid #vaccine requirements in health care settings starting in April, arguing that the decision puts #HealthCareWorkers at risk.

The condemnation came Friday after the CA Dept of Public Health announced earlier in the day that it will no longer require masks to be worn in indoor high-risk & #Healthcare settings nor require health care workers to be covid vaccinated starting April 3.
