This is what the 25m Dwingeloo radiotelescoop observed as the Orion spacecraft entered lunar orbit. The Doppler effect giving large frequency shifts, the signal disappearing at 12:26 and reappearing at 13:01UTC as Orion flew behind the Moon and extra noise as the Moon passed through the beam. It is too bad the strong carrier signal was turned off for the flyby, as it would've given very nice diffraction patterns with the spacecraft disappearing and reappearing from behind the Moon.

@sa5kpr I haven’t looked into it, is there a foreseeable path for getting it to show up as an audio device? Thanks for pointing the board out! I could absolutely see using it as say a web/app controlled voice keyer, base for an APRS TNC, etc.

@michael I need to pick that up too sometime, looking inside everyday things is so interesting! I was training to do industrial X-ray once and used a cheap solar desk calculator as a practice object. Found out that it has the solar panel but no wires and actually had two button cells on the board!
