Godzilla Minus One is very good 👍

More hotels should be built on top of train stations. Not only is it incredibly convenient (and smart), I love opening the window and listening to the noises of trains and announcements.

@alifeee Lovely sticker game there 😍

Oh, you little FLIRT

@laser I’m not entirely sure how it works, all I know is that someone put a note on my record that makes it a pain. Opaque bureaucracy, innit 🙃

2025-06-07

@laser I’m pretty sure this affects all trans people, not just GRC holders 🙂 I don’t have one yet and I have to ring ahead and get a code for them to use.

@boffbowsh @coldclimate We have a pump in our loft that feeds the shower from the main hot water tank, and it switches on when it detects water flow. I reckon there must have been a drip and it tried to turn on.

2025-06-05

I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night because, right as I was turning in, our shower decided to turn itself on, all on its own.

So I just lay there, for an hour, listening for the haunted shower.

They're shutting down accessibility and diversity & inclusion teams. So let's cover even more at @pixelpioneers. 😃

Join us in Bristol on 20 June for a community conference that puts accessibility at the heart of its schedule: pixelpioneers.co/events/bristo

@Jbasoo That’s fine! A poster can be poignant and reflective. Calendars I’m not so sure about.

We picked up this lovely Ghibli calendar in Japan last year, and it’s one of my favourite things I bought out there. It’s really big, the art inserts are A3 (not including the borders) and can be taken out and framed afterwards.

We’ve rolled over My Neighbour Totoro from May to June because June’s art is from Grave of the Fireflies. This struck me as a bit odd, because as much as I respect Grave of the Fireflies, it’s not exactly calendar material.

Do they do Threads calendars?

My Studio Ghibli calendar from Japan. The art is from My Neighbour Totoro and shows Catbus, Totoro, and Satsuki sat in a tree.

Totoro is a fluffy creature that stands on its hind legs and has a big grin.

Catbus is a giant cat who is also a bus.

Satsuki is a young girl in a yellow dress.

@alifeee The organiser usually announces it pretty late, but as far as I know, @gitpub is the best place to check.

@ryan @0xabad1dea I reckon it probably started when he stepped back up to CEO. I have absolutely no complaints about Jane Silber, she was lovely.

@alifeee I’ve asked in IRC

Gifted myself a day off today. Tested the Reilly bike around Upper Derwent Valley, then went record shopping. Lovely day. Burnout medicine.

My haul from Record Collector, a second hand record shop in Sheffield:

Kate Bush: The Dreaming

@boffbowsh Amen. Pure, distilled twat, just like his dad.

@glenjamin Ooh, now, the Colina bikes look very cool. Love that they’re local.

2025-06-01

@glenjamin I *nearly* considered buying an alloy frame set and building to my own specification.

I love aluminium bikes, I think they’re great. But so many manufacturers are treating them like budget options these days.
