From the American Southwest, now living in Paris. Obsessed with movies and filmmaking. I love late-afternoon light and coffee.
I design things — mostly interfaces, sometimes icons — that are a little warm, a little whimsical, and highly usable.
Over late-stage capitalism. Fluent in English and getting there in French.

Actor Mandy Patinkin’s plea for Jews to consider how what Netanyahu’s Israeli government is doing to Gaza is not just harming Palestinians and killing kids — but also endangering Jews across the globe.
ok we get it— you don’t know how to make posters anymore
@keir oh definitely. They have an entire suite of colours chosen specifically to be highly legible over near-white and near-black surfaces. And yet we’re left with… this
@davidbures it’s just such a shame that liquid glass as a material really does look quite cool, but seemingly comes at the cost of sacrificing usability and functional principles. It doesn’t have to be that way!
@harpaa01 thanks! That was the intention 🙂
@keir the lifted white active tab looks so much better, and probably makes for a much nicer transition to its glassy state when switching tabs
@keir love that we’re all here trying to fix this mess 😂
Couldn’t help but try pushing it a bit further, just for fun 😅 Still a little weird and messy, did this in a few hours to take a break from work lol.
Dock icons are from Michael Flarup, folder icons from @louie.
Using basically nothing but Apple’s own components and materials, I tried imagining a different way of adding Liquid Glass to the Mac…
This is INCREDIBLE; the Macs alongside the text aren't showing screenshots, it's booting emulators so you interact with what's being written about, and even includes the NeXT https://aresluna.org/frame-of-preference/

@m2m ah yes, I see it now. Thanks! Will very likely be my next phone
@m2m I saw that the US version is de-Googled, is that available in Europe as well?
@tvaziri seconding Hazel, I use it for this exact purpose.
@crashthearcade I’m in the same boat. That new Nothing phone and the Fairphone 6 are looking really good right now…
Today I was reminded that old online chats offered context awareness for the people online: you knew you won't be a bother to a friend who has a smiley flower as a status; and you knew you might not be getting a quick reply from someone who's Away.
Today I don't even know if my friends are online or not. The messenger apps make the assumption that everyone is online, and if not, they will receive a push notification, and will reply to you as soon as possible. But this assumption is barely true. I bet it makes lives harder, especially for ND people
