Just finished a #MeetWithApple session on designing for #LiquidGlass.
It was excellent, and I was happy to learn some new tricks and to worry less about how a brand can stand out in our new, glassy reality.

I was ok with it until today. Weird behaviour like flashing is now happening on my phone. I want to turn it completely off.

Forced to use #macos #tahoe at work now. From the moment I saw the first #liquidglass styled ”continue" button in Migrant Assistant, I've hated it.

What a fooken mess.

There is some magic involved in calculating the background color but I wonder if I should apply (or abuse) it more.

Another #LiquidGlass problem: the horizontal scrollbar in Safari is cut off on the left due to the increased radius of the window "corner".

The first attached image shows the left edge of the scrollbar while it is not all the way to the left. The second image shows how it is cut off when scrolled all the way to the left.

Also, in completely unrelated news, how #LiquidGlass deals with the transparent slider thumb at the ends of the range is certainly… interesting.

I'm sorry. I thought I was done complaining about #Apple and the disastrous UX in #LiquidGlass. Then I tried to crop a photo in Preview.

YOU LITERALLY NEED TO DRAG THE CORNER OUT OF THE WINDOW if you want to include the corner of the image in your crop.

What utter junk! Apple cares more about their design than your content.

How I know Alan Dye never uses 2 factor auth: signing in via an embedded WebView is ridiculously distracting with #LiquidGlass. The bottom right set of controls resizes repeatedly, the stop/reload button swaps are distracting… and that’s just one corner 🥴

Just finished installing #iOS26_3 on both my iPhone and iPad. The initial "Liquid Glass" regret is officially a thing of the past. I’ve finally hit that momentum where I’m actually getting to like it!

I have to admit there’s a kookiness to #LiquidGlass I like, but also I am so exhausted from using it. It is tiresome
