A major problem I have with Tasks.org, DAV, and @planifyapp is that, with #Nextcloud as a backing instance, sub-tasks status just often is not reliably consistent across all views.

I probably need to replace this setup with something else.

(Right now, I just always use https://tasks.org/ on mobile. But that kinda defeats the purpose of syncing.)

openvpn up/down scripts. Why would they, by default, have access to, say, reloading the DNS service. Or be able to modify the network setup as root.

Clearly, scripts *that required root rights to add* are a dangerous attack vector that needs to be constrained. 🙄

@Zugschlus Ich fand's sehr spannend und eine sehr angenehme Gruppe.

Es ist nicht die tiefste Technik (aber auch nicht massiv bei Design); ich würde den Schwerpunkt eher bei Community Building, Öffentlicher Sektor verorten.

Auch das einzige Event, bei dem man Maske tragend nicht angeschaut wird wie ein Alien. (An ihren CO2 Werten müssen sie aber auch arbeiten, die Arbeisstättenverordnung würde "Nein" sagen ...)

@Wando Ich finde es halt massiv unsozial und exkludierend, dass Züge ohne Sanitäreinrichtungen fahren dürfen.
Es würde deutlich höher priorisiert, wäre das anders - und dann würden *alle* davon profitieren.

Und das man bei Pauschalpreisen nicht angemessen entschädigt wird ist mMn ein anderes Problem. (Denn: je mehr Pauschalfahrende, desto weniger dringlich.) Die Erstattung sollte unabhängig vom gezahlten Ticketpreis sein.

Du optimierst individuell. Ich hätte es gern systemisch.

Als absolutes Minimum sollten Fahrgäste die vollen Kosten erstattet bekommen. Es ist schließlich sehr ... abhängig von dem jeweiligen körperlichen Zustand, ob diese Fahrt dann durchführbar bleibt, oder mindestens unerträglich ist.

(Und tatsächlich führen sehr viele Züge - das der komplette Zug keine nutzbaren Toiletten hatte ist in meinen letzten Jahren kaum erinnerbar vorgekommen. Andererseits hat auch einfach ganz Eberswalde Hbf über Monate bis Jahre keine gehabt. Absurd.)

Putting this question out to anyone in Austria who might have an inkling: say someone with 30+ years of professional experience of UNIX systems in environments ranging from small companies to global scale tech companies with hundreds of thousands of machines worldwide with a speciality in bare-metal services and an interest in insourcing and "legacy" systems wanted to expand their existing freelance business. What would be an hourly/daily rate (plus VAT, obviously) which they could ask for with a straight face?

I'll elaborate. I believe we're in an AI bubble. AI companies are pushing the overton window on AI discourse. They want the most extreme anti-AI sentiment to be "Sure, it's an overhyped technology right now but there will be reasonable applications down the road". I want to see pushback on this. It doesn't matter if I can disable some AI feature in the settings. The fact that Mozilla is jumping on this bandwagon is deeply disappointing to me.

Ergo konzentrieren sie sich medienwirksam auf Projekte, die nicht umsetzbar sind. Das bindet Aufmerksamkeit, Ressourcen, und Geld — die dann nicht für sinnvolle Pläne zur Verfügung stehen.
