Kinda disappointed in this @nextcloud

I do understand that many of these lists come packaged via libraries, but it really makes it hard for me to justify continuing to use Nextcloud

Markdown Workaround Lokal und Mobil

Ein weiteres Thema, dass danke #Apple und Co nicht sonderlich einfach zu händeln ist. Mir geht es hier um den Ersatz für "Apple Notes". Markdown ist ein wunderbarer Ersatz. Unter Linux ist das kein Problem, wie auch ein guter Artikel auf "Linux-Content.org" zeigt:

Wie man hier sieht, habe ich mir unter Linux also #ReText runtergeladen.

Unter meinem #tuxedo OS (Ubuntu) ließ er sich problemlos über Dolphin laden und es sieht wunderbar aus, nicht zu überladen, nicht zu kompliziert.
Die Dateien liegen bei mir auf meinem NAS (ausschließlich intern) und dort wird über die #Nextcloud synchronisiert. Damit hab ich das Thema für den Laptop quasi abgeschlossen. Nun kommt aber die Mobile Komponente.

Hier hab ich mal gesucht und fand 2 Lösungen:
Die erste und einfachste ist, sich z.B. ein Tool wie "1Writer" zu kaufen (5,99 Euro zum Zeitpunkt der Erstellung dieses Artikels). Damit kann ich per WebDav eine Verbindung aufbauen zur Nextcloud, kann dort einen Ordner in der App auswählen und somit direkten Zugriff auf dieselben Files nehmen.

Das funktioniert schnell und zuverlässig in meinen Tests. Solltet Ihr da noch andere Apps kennen, gern her damit. Mein Ziel ist es gewesen, nicht alle Files erst auf das Handy oder Tablet zu ziehen, zu bearbeiten und dann wieder hochzuladen. Ich möchte sie direkt bearbeiten.
Den Nextcloud Editor nutze ich deswegen nicht, weil er nicht sauber funktioniert. Freie Zeilen werden anders erkannt, Aufzählungen gerne durcheinandergewürfelt usw.

Die zweite Möglichkeit ist #Joplin mit der #joplinapp

Vorteil hier, man kann es entweder direkt über die Nextcloud synchronisieren, oder aber #Joplinsync nutzen (unterschiedliche Preiskategorien). Die Server hierfür liegen in Frankreich, laut Aussage von Joplin.
Eine App, sauberers Markdown soweit ich das sehe, übersichtlich und mit der Synchronisation problemlos nutzbar. Beim Synchronisieren über die Nextcloud kommt es bei einigen zu langen Sync- Zeiten, liegt eventuell am Anbieter oder Server, da hab ich nichts näheres.
Nachteil ist natürlich, dass man zusätzlich zahlen muss. Die texteditor Auswahl ist allerdings bei iOS nicht sonderlich prickelnd, sofern man die Nextcloud als Ausgang nimmt und nicht Apple iCloud, was bei mir Bedingung ist.

Obsidian fiel raus, weil ich einmal nicht sehen kann, wo die Server liegen (soll welche in Asien, Europa usw. geben und man soll die wählen können) und weil die Software nicht Open ist.

Habe #Collabora #Desktop jetzt endgültig entfernt.

Es ist einfach kein guter Workflow möglich. Obwohl irgendwie alles geht, ist es gefühlt auf dem Stand von #LibreOffice vor zehn Jahren. Viel zu viele Klicks für viel zu wenige Funktionen.

Das ist komisch und schade, denn mit der Web-Version auf #Nextcloud komme ich gut zurecht.

I have an old nextcloud box that I wanted to repurpose: plug it in a friend's router and do remote daily backups.

I've been using Borg and a friend recommended Kopia. Any recommendations here?

Mir fehlt diese Client Einbindung mit direkter sync. Oder ich habe es nicht gefunden.

@nixCraft I was working hard on getting #nextcloud to work in my #kubernetes cluster. It was a massive pain in the backside because the container does a bunch of horrendous rsync shenanigans when it initialise. This so bad that it chockes up the NFS storage provider AND the server. It basically shafted my whole cluster everytime I tried deploying Nextcloufq Only way out was using object storage and I decided on Garage on top of ZFS dataset. Now my #cnpg DBs do back-ups to that as well, two birds with one stone!

I don't know if something like that is possible for OneDrive or GoogleDrive but for Nextcloud it is possible that YOUR idea becomes true. 😉

Guess what, #Nextcloud? #OneDrive has a "Copy Link" in the file context menu. And guess what? They also open a dialog, like with whom to share, for editing or for viewing, but this dialog is fully accessible. Webbish, yes (I would prefer a native Windows API one), but fully accessible.
And guess what even more? #GoogleDrive also has "Copy Link" in their context menu. Aren't they secure enough? I don't know. But they are *convenient*. And *accessible*.
UPD. this post was inspired by my struggles with sharing Nextcloud links and by this ongoing discussion. TL;DR: The option was there, it worked like a charm, but then it was removed because of "security".

@Larvitz @jwildeboer I just re-tooled the Ansible for my "private cloud" to use the Traefik configuration from that blog post and tested it on a VM at Hetzner. 20 minutes to a private cloud with the following components:

- #Keycloak
- #OneDev
- #Vaultwarden
- #Nextcloud AIO
- #SearXNG
- Static blog site using #VitePress
- #OpenVPN

I also have a playbook to automate the backups (on and off-site)

Appena ritornati da 16 ore di downtime per @index durante le quali ho messo alla prova il nuovo #raspberrypi 5, debuggato problemi di voltaggio (d'altra parte, perché comprare alimentatori ufficali) flashato ripetutamente le microSD, dormito molto poco e configurato NFS (sqlite gestito da rasp 3 -> via NFS -> Rasp 5 -> NVMe collegato via USB... cosa può andare storto 🤣).

Ora è il momento di capire da che parte prendere #nextcloud AIO! 💪

J'ai un petit VPS sur lequel j'ai installé #nextcloud et #cryptpad

Je ne pourrais pas avoir les deux car mon vps et petit et les 2 applications font la même choses.

- Cryptpad semble plus léger et mieux fournis de base.
- Cryptpad est long à charger à chaque page
- Nextcloud a un client de synchronisation
- Nextcloud a ma faveur.

Vous voyez d'autres différences pour m'aider à choisir
