I finally run almost everything I need often on #wayland. A few env vars and some settings here and there and it's done.

Most people in #academia have severe #stockholm #syndrome. I know many people in academia and their #workplaces are almost always highly toxic but they still argue it’s not all that bad.

Ah #linux 6.13 fixes the #bluetooth issues with my #qualcomm WCN785x chip. Finally I got bluetooth sound once again.

@mpg @williampietri For me the craziest part is that almost all small companies have to deal with clients (rightfully) asking about security and data protection and stuff like that but nobody has any problem with CoPiilot in their windows ystems

Apparently the bluetooth device is made by #Foxconn and identifies as 0489:e0fc.

Turns out, this device is not yet supported by the kernel. The patch has been submitted but is not yet in the current kernel. It will be in 6.13 though.

Next question now is whether to compile a custom kernel or not to see if that is indeed the fix for me.

I guess that is how people get started in #kernel development?

TIL about the US-altgr-intl layout on #linux. It‘s great because ir doesn’t have dead keys for #programming related keys.

@nerkmind that’s not promising. Just got bought that laptop. Wifi works fine. My blueooth mouse works fine. My in ear headphones work fine. The only thing that really worked are my sony headphones

My #bluetooth 4.2 headphones won’t work with the #Qualcomm WCN7850 chipset for wifi 7 and bluetooth 5.4 on my #archlinux setup.
Funny enough my in-ears with bluetooth 5.2 work just fine.
