@Julie It is called "peer reviews". The company I work for puts great stock in what other people in the company say when evaluating performance.

I am on a Performance Improvement Plan at work. I am a top notch engineer, but my soft skills are a sea urchin. So I have been assigned training in "Active Listening". I am supposed to take notes during a series of design meetings to show that I am listening to others' ideas. Those same others are going to be asked about my demeanor.

I really hate that my job security is based on people's opinions of my personality instead of on my software engineering.

I the proud parent of a non-binary person. They are 23, so calling them "my kid" seems denigrating. I typically refer to them as my Spawn but that sounds odd in formal settings like work icebreakers.

I need language to catch up and give me something as useful as "nibling" which is gender neutral for niece or nephew.
