Anyone else using @OBSProject from time to time and keen on replays? I've built a Lua script to automatically update a Media Source whenever the Replay Buffer is written to disk (via button, hotkey, API, …). So whenever you cut to that scene, the most recent replay will play.
In other scripts, one had to configure a dedicated hotkey. This made triggering a replay via the API (e.g. via Companion) impossible.

An analogy I use with my students: the point of weightlifting is not to move a weight from point A to point B. The point is not that nobody has done it before. The point is •you• doing it. If you got a robot to lift weights up and down for you, would you expect to get any stronger?
It’s like that with class too: I’m asking you to do things that thousands of people before you have also done because the experience of doing them builds strength. And the strength is the only thing you’ll take away from the class that matters in the long term.

@markusr Am Endes Tages kommt mMn die Technologie nicht mega draufan, solange sie richtig verwendet wird. Deshalb die Technologie wählen, welche dem Wissen des Teams entspricht oder dem bestehenden Wissen am nächsten liegt. Das beste Framework bringt nichts, wenn man es falsch verwendet.
Aber mMn das Wichtigste: Zuerst umschauen, welche Teile fixfertig als Service eingekauft werden können. Das reduziert das Umsetzungs-Risiko erheblich und hält den Fokus auf dem Wesentlichen.
@FlohEinstein ah I see. Mindestens klassisches Dialup sollte demnach aber gehen, denn das wurde zu Beginn ja sogar via Akusik-Kopppler gemacht.
@FlohEinstein Für Point-to-Point könnte vielleicht DSL hergenommen werden? Für P2MP vielleicht 10BASE5, denn Coaxkabel waren ja auch zweipolig.

Which scoreboard SW are you using? We loved the retro-styling. Did you do it yourself?
And what kind of mirrorless camera and lens did you use? We used one in our last stream for the first time. At first, the pictures were very nice. But the camera overheated at times and the autofocus wasn't up to the task either :-/
@ahf We didn't even consider dedicated hardware 😅 The ATEM Mini looks nice, though. We're doing ok with OBS for now, which is running on a MacBook Pro M1, one StreamDeck for switching inputs and cutting (but with the Companion software). We use mostly NDI video inputs, some from smartphones, either via Ethernet or dedicated 5GHz Wifi (which we bring with us). We have one GoPro via HDMI-to-USB as an overview camera. But this requires the GoPro Media Kit, at least on the most recent GoPros, afaik.
@ahf Nice setup. What do you use for streaming? We stream for Zurich City RollerDerby and Team Switzerland. We used Vmix before, then OBS, and we'll probably stick to OBS for the time being. What sources do you have?
