@MikeDunnAuthor I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
Our economy is based on the movement of money from one person or business to another.
Those at the top (say, the top 2%) hoover up all the money they can get their hands on, spend a little, and stash the rest away offshore, removing that money from the economy.
Those at the bottom (say, the bottom 50%) spend ~100% of their income, often more, spreading it around the economy, quite literally keeping the economy going.
Pump money in at the bottom, and tax those at the top to the hilt.

The plane is mostly white, with large golden "Emirates" titles in English on the upper forward fuselage, just in front of smaller titles in an Arabic script.
There are smaller, black, "Expo2020" titles slightly forward of the main logo, below the blue outline of a flower and above "blue "Dubai UAE" titles.
The 4 white engine pods under the wings have large golden logos that are essentially a re-arranged version of the Arabic version of the "Emirates" titles.
The planes tail is covered in a large, seemingly waving United Arab Emirates flag (a vertical red bar, with green, white, and black horizontal stripes).
Trees and bushes in the distance line the bottom of the frame, under hazy grey skies.

On this May Day, let us remember that it wasn’t the CEOs and billionaires who saved us during COVID-19. It was the janitors, nurses, cleaning crews, grocery and food workers with their hard, often invisible labor.

@User47 We have a ceiling fan in our bedroom, but until a couple of nights ago we never used it.
And we're not planning on using it again, at high enough revs for us to feel it, it shakes like it's about to come off, there is all sorts of electrical crackling and popping, and it's really noisy and I can't sleep.
Yeah, I'm not a fan...
(Pun intended)

Manc AvGeek boosted:

I got up at 5 this morning, so I could do some writing before leaving for work at 7.
*sigh*
Yeah, about that...
I spent an hour trying to figure up the name of the drummer of the support band for a 2008 tour by an American band I stalked around the country.
Yeah, about that...
It turns out that the only references to them online are either references to them possibly having a minor role in a movie, or changing the bands name.
There is one single, solitary reference to them going on tour with this particular bunch of Americans, but no names of anyone in the band.
So, look up the new band name.
Oh, look, 1 article out of dozens that gives me a name.
Only there is no indication if this is the same person.
He actually played bass for this American band, but there is no mention of him anywhere.
Oh, wait, the singer from said American band did a solo UK tour, with his backing band all coming from the Oxford area, and didn't this guy play bass?
YES!
A limited edition CD of rehearsals for that tour was released, and I found a track listing with a list of the band members!
And it's the same name I found earlier!
Right. Let's get this thing written!
Yeah, about that...
I have to leave in 20 minutes, and I haven't had breakfast yet.
Or got dressed.
Or had a shower...
Yeah, no writing done this morning.
I really must set up a band wiki or something, for keeping track of these things.

The registration "G-BAAD" are on the side of the rear fuselage, also in blue.

Sorry, yes, I'm old enough to remember that, back in the days when she was known as an actress, not a singer.
Anything except The Locomotion, which was painful to listen to as a teenager, and is even more so now?
