I used to get told that wide smiles are not good to assert authority in #leadership particularly for women.
Iโve not fought my way to professorship to adhere to stereotypes. I did it to rock the boat of such nonsense ๐

this goes out to everyone whose accomplishments this year aren't visible. the ones who prioritised rest over the rat race, who rebuilt themselves, ground up, cell by cell.
those who caressed their scars & found the space to heal. the ones who found reasons to smile in a world that makes you scream. those who danced again, sang again, found a moment of grace. if you felt joy in being able to pause, in being able to breatheโ
you lived this year, too. and how beautiful it is that you did. ๐
@wordswithnima thats beautiful, thank you, someone asked me if Id made any new years resolutions, I said I had nothing left to give up, and was starting from the bottom up. Bought drawing materials and a teach yourself to draw book. I've got nothing but time so I might as well try and put it to good use. Nearly 3yrs to get to this stage. Recovery in progress
I'm beating #LongCovid
@kityates North Wales too Kit ๐ข๐๐ข
If you're argument against nurses going on strike is "but patient safety" then you have misunderstood what the strike is about.
#LongCovid resources
As my exhaustion is relentless, my plan of making a document w/ #LongCovid resources across countries needs to be postponed.

@effies mine would be buzzing all the time. I'd have to sit still and do nothing then it drops in my boots and the alarm would be going off because its mid 40/50s.My current range is 48-150 ๐คฃ๐คทโโ๏ธ
@Scientits I thought so, Coca is the timid one and always hangs back. Considering a couple of months ago they were all feral, I'm getting there
@thorsten4future yeah, Ive just broken them all up for recycling before Christmas ๐ cruel cat mom. Might get another before I have to print it off

Trying to get a Christmas photo to go in keyrings so hard to get them all together, worse than kids ๐คฃ think I did a great job in the end ๐ป๐ป๐ป๐ป
My spouse R & I have been a happy 2-person family for almost 15 years now, but in the last year or two deterioration of my mobility due to #MECFS and my increasing care needs have really put a strain on our relationship. R works all hours at 2 jobs to support us financially, cooks all our meals & does almost all the housework & animal care. Needless to say, heโs *incredibly* stressed. Hopefully with the stairlift & social worker weโre going to get some more help, but itโs hard.

@Ellemarie318 hi @Ellemarie_318 hope you are well. Nice to see you on here
This guy kept me company today while I was depressed.

@RapidOffensiveUnit the stress comes from, not the over time pay but demands on time after shift is over when you need to be somewhere else but can't leave what you're doing or hand over to someone else
@RapidOffensiveUnit sometimes the only time to do any writing is after your shift ends and another nurse has taken over your job. Filling in a datex can take 15-30 mins, but rarely with witness evidence bc that takes more time, phoning relatives etc can't be done while you're bedside or stuck in mdts. The admin list is endless.
