That look on a local reporter’s face when you point out TikTok’s data collection is fundamentally the same as every other social app, and they they can collect user data via web tracking (again, like every other platform does) even without the app on your phone.

I wish more people understood that "I want the computer to generate a natural language text that sounds like a plausible answer to a question about x" and "I want the computer to answer a question about x" are two very different problems.
