Average oxygen levels in the ocean have fallen by 2% over the past 50 years, and could fall 20% by the end of this century, making some parts of the ocean less or non-habitable to sea life. Especially coastal ecosystems are in danger. That is one of the reasons why we investigate #methane and #ammonium removal in our European Research Council (ERC) synergy project #MARIX
