What have we here!
@janosrusiczki Koszi, ket nap utan vettem csak eszre, de most elolvasom, imadom az ilyen jellegu iromanyokat. :)
I've been in enough codebases to recognise this

Today the sun rise for the last time this year. Officially we have another week, but with the topography we will not see the sun again until February 6th 2025. Of course it’s been snowing hard for the past two days so we didn’t see it regardless. #Nunavut #Arctic #DarkSeason
Leslie Lamport's new book "A Science of Concurrent Programs" has been sent to the publisher and the final draft is available for free as a PDF!
@codyroux Well, I just found this Castor library that looks promising. http://www.mpprogramming.com/cpp/default.aspx
@codyroux I already spent a week googling and integrating some stuff from github, but nothing was good enough. I even tried the C and C++ implementations of Shen, but they're also a failure, as the C implementaion uses a GC library that messes with the rest of the libraries, and the C++ implementation overflows the stack while loading the std stuff. :) I started reading a book about a Prolog implementation, maybe I give it a go, as I could not find anything.
@codyroux It's too little of Prolog that this supports. I need negation also. :) Also, a little bit of math support would also be needed. :)
@codyroux I didn't try this option yet, but my impression is that it will not work for me. SWI Prolog has a lot of dependencies, also, as far as I can tell, it wants to use its own linker, I don't know if I could link my other libraries with it... Any other options?
@codyroux I would love to, I have the best use case for it (very small combinatorial search problems to generate room attributes for my game), but I need to embed it into a C++ program that will be multiplatform and I can't find any solution for this problem. Please recommend me a Prolog library that is easily embeddable in C++.

25 of my favourite games, it's far from a complete list, but representative nonetheless. what are YOUR favourite games?
This might not look like much, but it was very hard to make because I wanted to implement #backtracking in my rule evaluation engine so it can solve the 8 queens problem and hopefully other tricky placement problems. #voxels #generativeart
Let's talk about money! And sales! In this thread, I'm going to share sales data and other financials from the launch of my indie naval combat game, Waves of Steel. Please check it out!

The first episode of Coding History: 3D from Mode7 to DOOM is live now! It explains how to rotate points in 2D space and why the rotation formula so often used in game development is the way it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JC5IMfK7Yfw
Please go check it out and boost this post if you want to support an educational video series about old school 80s and 90s 3D 🙏
Hypothesis: The Fediverse consists almost entirely of adults.
I expect most youths are drawn to the large corporate social networks; but those of us who took the effort to come here have likely experienced the Internet before most of those existed.
Of course, the only way to test this is by collecting data using the most scientifically rigorous method available to me: a Mastodon poll, lol
(I expect this will only reach English-speaking Fedi, but do boost if you're able)

Soak testing my engine with more silly creations. This time, I tried recreating the famous #c64 #10print maze in the original size (40x25 characters) and also a variation, that doesn't look as good, but it's still interesting. #voxel #generativeart
I am still working on my game. While testing the procedural level generation, I sometimes doodle some stuff, I thought I'd share some of it from now on. #voxel, #generativeart
