Here’s a photo of a freshly finished colored pencil drawing. It shows a character sitting on a rock, playing a lute, surrounded by colorful fish emerging from the mouths of large stone heads that appear to be singing. The drawing is still taped to its working board with masking tape, and I’m holding it on my lap, over a flowery dress.
The whole piece features a vivid palette of blues, oranges, reds, and yellows.
I kept all my little notes around the edges, as usual.

On two adjacent rocks I found this Hidden Goldspeck (Candelaria aurella) lichen.
It's interesting how this lichen only spreads out on one of the rocks in straight lines.
It is probably a matter of different layers of rock, of which I unfortunately understand nothing.
Does anyone know anything about this?

Bog Asphodel: a deep, glossy yellow flower head made of a stack of closely packed, thin-petalled flowers.

White Beak-sedge: grass-like in appearance, with small white spiky flowers

The sticky, glistening hairs on the leaves of sundews and their deep red colour make them stound out against the bare peaty soil. The oval shape of these leaves distinguishes it as Oval-leaved Sundew. A single stalk rising up from the centre is not much taller than the leaves, and bears pale yellow buds.
