I believe this is some form of Hibiscus, a flower which is often lusciously coloured, but in this case it's absolutely as white as can be. Drops from a recent rain shower linger on the the broad petals as tiny insects pop by to investigate the flower.

Dahlia 4: Zahra, a white anemone dahlia I purchased this year from Mount Mera Botanical.

She wasn’t quite fully flowering but I wanted a photo of her before the north westerly wind got to her.

If you look carefully you can spot Patches the cat having a nap in the background.
