And I thought it couldn't get worse: now macOS 26.2 draws glitched and flickering lines of pixels at the top edge of my wallpaper on multiple machines (not showing up in screenshots). Lovely.

A new track by #Lazerhawk "Haunted Highway"!! This sets the mood for the coming days.
After changing Apple accounts which resetted my iBooks library to zero, I definitely won't buy an eBook with DRM ever again. Vendor lock-in for books is the dumbest thing ever!
I buy unprotected ePUBs from a regional book store instead now and drop them into Calibre and/or Books.app. Feels more future-proof to me.
Plasma 6.5 is out! Look forward to cool interface re-designs (rounded corners! Automatic smooth light-to-dark transitions!), features (smart KRunner searches! Pinned clipboard items!) and tons of usability and accessibility improvements:
Captain Kirk was already briefed about power consumption and capabilities of the upcoming M5 chip. What could possibly go wrong?
I’m slowly becoming a Shortcuts app fan because of the iPhone's Action Button. Mine now opens Duolingo in the morning, my public transport ticket during the day and my SomaFM radio in the evening 😁.
I made the right choice, the #iPhoneAir is pretty amazing – even after just a few hours of using it.
It feels luxurious with the thin screen edges and the light weight. It's much easier to handle one-handed than the Pros.
The iPhone Air's little MagSafe battery backpack is almost as large and heavy as my entire iPhone 13 mini 😅.
That's my first external phone battery, so I'm curious to see how well it fits into my daily life. It also supports Qi/USB-C charging for headphones, etc. which is a big reason why I got it.
This is the first #macOS release I'm not using on day 1.
I'll keep an eye on the Tahoe fixes and improvements with a VM. Sequoia runs stable, gets all the security updates and I don't feel like I'm missing anything yet.
I did choose the #iPhoneAir today with all its compromises. I'm bored by the regular sized iPhones at the moment and there is also sadly no real successor to my 13 mini.
Finally tackled the migration to a single Apple Account on my devices. There are still some store purchases and subscriptions I have to review and maybe redo, but nothing time-critical.
I lost my Apple Music library in the process, but it's also somehow freeing to start over.
Since returning to Linux I thought that VirtualBox was still my only realistic enduser VM option. Now I found Gnome Boxes via Flathub and it's significantly faster and better. It also runs well on KDE.
Frankfurter Landgericht stoppt Apple-Werbung wegen Greenwashing

That's neat! I can drag and throw a window into the direction of the Dock to minimize it in #iPadOS26. I already knew about double-tap to maximize, but that speeds things up even more.
Using the traffic lights still feels slower than necessary.
I didn't expect #ios26 to be so much worse on iPhone than on iPad. There I barely had any problems (excluding the UI design), but on the phone it's crashy and even my entire screen flickers sometimes. I"ll keep suffering through it…
Looks like #xcode 26 beta 5 fixed the low-res app icons on non-Tahoe releases. That regression kept me from using Icon Composer *.icon files in my new builds.
I was hoping for a bit more contrast in #ipados26 beta 5. Maybe next time…
You can actually double-tap the title area on any window to switch between fullscreen and window mode on #iPadOS26. That speeds things up!
