Nothing upsets a fascist more than somebody they consider beneath them questioning their authority.

"I was asking a question..."

2hago 203185T

'Ibegan to ask a question’: statement from senator Alex Padilla
Alex Padilla is reading a statement to the press now.

He says he and his colleagues have been asking DHS for answers on their
“increasingly extreme immigration enforcement actions” and their queries
have been met with little to no information.

He came to the press conference to hear what Kristi Noem had to say, he
said, emphasizing “the right for people to peacefully protest and to stand up
for their first amendment - their fundamental - rights”:

44 I'was there peacefully. I had a question, and so I began to ask a question.

I was almost immediately forcibly removed from the room. I was forced to the
ground, and I was handcuffed. I was not arrested. I was not detained.

Padilla's assault & handcuffing is getting all the attention, but what Noem said is perhaps more terrifying.

"We are not going away. We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city."

Admitting they're not here for violent criminals, they're here to overthrow our elected officials

Back in 2004 Boston PD killed this woman with a rubber bullet. There was no protest, it was just a bunch of “real men” rioting and setting cars on fire because the Red Sox won an important game against the Yankees. (I lived in Southie at the time and we all left town with our cars just in case this happened because this is what they do when they get drunk & excited about sports ball.)

I didn’t remember this story, but I saw someone talking about it this morning so I wanted to share it here, just in case y’all know people talking about rubber bullets like they’re not lethal. Please tell them about Victoria.

This is how. Greta Thunberg spits fire and gives you the only media training you may ever need.

Reporter: How did the Israelis treat you, we saw them giving sandwiches?
Greta Thunberg: They probably have posted lots of PR stunts, they did an illegal act by kidnapping us in international waters but that’s not the real story here. The real story is the genocide in Gaza and systematic starvation.
Reporter: Are you worried about the others?
Greta: Yes…I’m calling for everyone who can to mobilize to demand their immediate release and, of course, to demand not only humanitarian aid being let into Gaza but also a ceasefire and most importantly an end to the occupation, an end to the systemic oppression and violence that Palestinians are facing on an everyday basis.
Reporter: “Why do you think so many countries and governments around the world are just ignoring what’s happening in Gaza?”
Greta Thunberg: “Because of racism.”

These fliers are for distributing at the "No Kings" demonstrations on June 14, 2025, in response to Trump's attempt to seize power via military occupation.

"The decisive moment has arrived. Disruptive, courageous action is our only chance. If we fight, we will win."

(The front of a flier, reading)

It Is Fascism. Start Acting Like It.

Yes, Trump probably has a Master Plan to use riots to justify military occupation. And just like his Master Plan to use tariffs to bring back jobs, it is completely idiotic.

They believe they can beat and intimidate us into submission. But this will backfire.

If every city in America fought like the angels on the first nights of the LA uprising, the regime wouldn’t stand a chance.

The Decisive Moment Has Arrived
Trump has deployed active duty Marines to Los Angeles and threatened to use “equal or greater force” across the country if people dare to resist his agenda.

The Democratic Party, the courts, and all the existing institutions of government have failed. The law is now Trump’s weapon and the police, ICE, DHS, FBI, the National Guard, the Marines, whatever – all of them are now his footsoldiers.

This is fascism. You know it. Now is the time to start acting like it.

The regime will not be swayed by empathy with peaceful protestors or opinion polls or the threat of a blue wave in the midterms. That is no longer the country we are in.

When the law becomes the weapon of tyrants, we are all above the law. That is what it means to say the people are sovereign.

Disruptive, Courageous Action Is Our Only Chance

People who say things like "we achieved racial equality through MLK doing peaceful protests" tend to ignore three major facts:
1. We never achieved racial equality.
2. There were literally hundreds of violent race riots in the 60s.
3. They killed MLK. They fucking shot that dude anyway. Come on.

LAPD are doing exactly what we saw in Portland five years ago: creating the very violence they claim to be addressing:

“I already wrote about the GOP’s bloodthirsty desire to use the military on Americans. They manufactured a nonsense “crisis” by over-aggressively sending in ICE agents to grab people off the streets, leading to protests, which were focused on provoking protestors into violence, which would then be used to justify an even more violent crackdown.”

Always frustrating when people talk about immigrants being a drain on the UK. Jim Ratcliffe recently bought a cycle team, a yacht team, a ski lodge, a Swiss football team, Manchester United, the Mercedes F1 team and sponsors New Zealand rugby - largely funded by tax avoidance. He owns not one but two superyachts aswell as two hotels. He is a Brexiteer and Eurosceptic who for tax purposes says he lives in Monaco and owns an estate on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, where he relocated his business in 2010 to avoid tax. His vast thirty billion wealth comes from petrochemicals, oil and plastic. Jim wants fracking and doesn't care about the consequences.

Assuming the cost of one migrant is c.£12000 per year (and assuming that person gives nothing back to the economy, which we know to be wrong), just in money that Jim avoids paying the country he contributed to being cut off from our neighbours whose hospitality he enjoys so much, that would easily fund half a million immigrants per year. And they're not pumping oil and plastic into the environment.

Jim is one man.

What struck me about watching the G7 protests here in Toronto years ago was, I watched regular citizens step in and try to prevent vandalism and looting while the Police stood back and watched.

When the police did take action it was against the peaceful protestors, kettling them and beating the shit out of them (while they had removed all identification from their uniforms see case of Adam Nobody).

Wonder whatever happened to that police chief? 🙃

Then we got the Ottawa convoy protest where the police had a love fest with protestors and sat back while protesters harassed citizens.

LAPD appears to have kettled protesters
around 7:45pm to prevent them from
leaving, waited for the 8pm curfew to
kick in and then mass-arrested them for
curfew violations.

Stephen Miller designed a policy to rip children from their parents.

Terry Moran called him a “world-class hater.”

Only one of those caused outrage.

Guess which one.

A photograph of Stephen Miller in a suit, facing the camera with a stern expression. The text overlays the image in white: “The Index.” at the top left with a checkmark. At the bottom, bold text reads: “There’s No Civility Clause for Fascists,” followed by: “It’s not offensive to call Stephen Miller hateful. It’s offensive to pretend he’s not.”

Book Review: The Magician of the Gods

This book starts with the story of J. Harlan Bretz. In the 1920s, Bretz proposed that the scablands in eastern Washington were caused by cataclysmic flooding event rather than gradual erosion. Bretz was almost laughed out the geological profession for making this claim. Decades later, he was vindicated.

Sometimes crazy ideas are proven right.
