Dartmoor, Pale Yellow Sky - a painting by artist Andrew Hardwick. It's a highly stylised / abstract depiction of a moorland landscape under pale winter light. The paint is built up in contoured and textured layers of paint and other mixed media and found materials which evoke the rugged and layered nature of the moor itself.

The new ".zip" domain is being used almost solely for malware. Some of the clicks are very deceptive, even to technically knowledgeable people. See the attached image for an example.

You can block all zip domains with the following uBlock Origin rule under My Filters:

A view of Penmaenmawr granite quarry taken from seaward. The mountainside is gouged with the levels and terraces of the workings, with some areas of loose scree. Some bright flashes of yellow gorse and rust-coloured bracken break up the otherwise drab colours whilst the clefts are in heavy shadow. The ridge of the mountain range beyond is visible in the distance.

Next up on our little retrospective of last year’s exhibition is @mariafloydart whose work will be known and admired by many of you.

The exhibition this year will run for an additional couple of days, from Thursday the 24th until Monday the 28th. It will again be at @poltimore_house.

The Open Call to visual artists will go live on the 1st of June and we would encourage artists of all visual mediums to apply. Last year’s exhibition was an amazing success.

Early start for Ten Tors training drop off at Oke camp.

Today our 13 year old son and his team are walking 32 miles across Dartmoor - North to South.

We couldn’t be prouder of him. Looking forward to hearing tales of bottomless bogs and soggy boots later tonight.

We are delighted to announce that Sianne Chambers is the recipient of this year's Hawthorn Bursary.

The bursary provides £500 to a 3rd yr BA Photography student at the University of Plymouth to carry out a project based on Dartmoor.

Sianne's project - titled 'Quest' - explores the letterboxing community on Dartmoor through landscape, portraiture and still life.

Granite and Water define Dartmoor. These images detail those moments when the two meet. One of the images is 175 years in the making, the other lasted less than 1/2000th of a second. But, to my eyes, they ate very very similar; the meeting of these two create thousands of worlds and possibilities.
