I’m just moving to another account, I won’t stop posting

I’m moving.

Pixelfed seemed like a good idea but it’s not really compatible with Mastodon accounts. It’s fine if you just want the pictures here and keep text separate with a separate account, but also too cumbersome imo. Sadly, the export from Pixelfed is in json and Mastodon imports seems to be csv. I’m too lazy to write code to convert so I’ll start fresh on

This will enable me to interact with Mastodon accounts so it won’t be just pretty pictures 😄

I’ll shut this account down at some later point.

Sadly, it looks like they only sell to Sweden

Supporting Ukraine 🇺🇦 can be done in many ways. E.g. by buying socks. 🧦
I get merino wool socks, Ukrainian soldiers get wool socks and there’s also a donation for medical supplies included.

The people in the boat club I joined last year are in no hurry to get their boats in the water. 😄 Today was the last scheduled “launch day”, but still there are more boats on land than in the water. I’m moored alone on the left side of the jetty.

Two weeks+ travel on German regional trains was really simple with the #deutschlandticket
I only missed one connection (the timetable offered a 2 min change, no big deal I waited 20 min for the next train) and there were no big delays. I avoided the biggest cities. It took a few days to get rid of #interrail habits (travel days & journey activations are not needed ). The interrail habit of getting my money’s worth out of a “travel day” stuck, though. Next time I’ll go shorter distances in a day. For slow travel in Germany I’d definitely do it again. It was also great to be able to use local transportation without the hassle of finding out how to buy a ticket and for which zones. I bought the ticket in the FahrPlaner app, check the conditions for how to cancel (basically: order on day 1-10 the month before traveling and cancel immediately) But if you have to pay for 2 months like I did, it’s still a good deal. #tågskryt #traintravel #bahnbubble #trainwindow

No, not this one, but there are narrow gauge lines in the mountains. “Fichtelgebirgsbahn” is one example. I took a standard diesel regional train from Zwickau

A stop in Potsdam. Pretty town with tree-lined streets. Slowest day on the trip, just going to Berlin where I’ll take the night train to Sweden

Magdeburg has named a German verb: “Magdeburgisieren” - “Magdeburgerize”?
I.e. to totally annihilate the city and kill everyone. This was during the 30 year war. It was annihilated again during World War Two, with the largest firestorm bombing in 1945. Then it took 6 years before they started rebuilding the city as seen in this picture

I also stopped at Augustusburg and took the “Seildrahtbahn” up to the castle (I was complaining earlier about the lack of castles, but the valleys up in the Erzgebirge (“Ore mountains” = 💰) has some. The #deutschlandticket gave me a discount.
