The next store for my upcoming book is done! This one is number 33, so there are only 7 more to go! I imagined here one of these a bit shady, a bit quirky buildings containing offices that I'm never really sure what their purpose is. (Here, a publishing firm, a shady detective agency, and probably a tax agency on the first floor).
Last nightâs power outage came from a shooting! But not like the attacks on power stations: âThe gunshots hit a City Light electrical conduit, which feeds underground cables. Utility crews need to pull the cables out of the ground to make repairs.â This #Seattle Times story has the details:
Ayyy, powerâs back. Just over a half hour. Still says âInvestigatingâ for the cause on their outage website. Thanks #Seattle City Light!
User Icon commissions are open again! Now you can also request your face, if you are ok with looking like a weird smiley face?

These are two core rules in how I live my life, with #2 being something that I recommend to people often, but with #1 being something that I do while feeling that I need to make excuses for pursuing something interesting but possibly useless. It never occurred to me that these two things are related, but @clive makes a compelling argument here that the two go hand-in-glove. https://clivethompson.medium.com/the-power-of-indulging-your-weird-offbeat-obsessions-77c12f10e69f
According to Seattle City Lightâs outage website, about 7,800 people are affected and theyâre investigating the cause. Estimated restoration is 2am: https://www.seattle.gov/city-light/outages
Interesting since this neighborhood never seems to get hit by a #PowerOutage even with all the high winds that can come through.
#PowerOutage in #NorthBeaconHill, #Seattle. Just as we were starting âTĂĄrâ too.
@arthurwyatt Earning that kitty rent.
Donât normally watch (or post) about football, but @kenthompson has it on. Forgot about the #LegionOfBoom and I just cracked up when I heard it. Itâs great because 1) Itâs so bombastic and stupid, 2) It overlaps with a particular nerdiness for Superfriends.
@arthurwyatt The one in the back!

This is fascinating! The Braille Institute has developed a font - free to download - that's designed to be clearer for readers with lower vision.
An example of one of the aspects of low legibility that they tackled attached.
It's named Atkinson Hyperlegible. Atkinson was the Institute's founder - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._Robert_Atkinson
Here's where you can read about the font and download it: https://brailleinstitute.org/freefont

today as i approved profiles in my cartoonists of color, queer cartoonists, and disabled cartoonists databases, i came upon a request to remove a profile as the creator is now established and doesn't want to take up space that others could use. above is my reply.
i hope they change their mind and come back.

i put up a shelf above my bed. i thought i could put plänt there, and maybe store some things. it may end up remaining empty however, as iâve discovered that waking up and seeing this first thing is good for my mental health
