the republicans are full time coming for your shit, everybody's shit, maga compliants...
I don't love everyone I've ever reblogged. Sometimes I share and like things that are less fun than useful.
Grumpy old lorax. Queer as in fuck you. Disabled as in not dead yet. Left as in black rest, trans rights, and commons stewarded to support the least common.
Non-pacifist and anti-pogrom.
Still, I believe the answer to fear is caring for the ecosystem and potlucks.

"Stop fucking the money and I'll stop calling you a MoneyFucker."
Get MoneyFuckers out of Congresss
Get MoneyFucking out of Government
No more MoneyFuckers in the Whitehouse
“Capitalism is just voluntary trade,” explained the cop sent by the state to evict you from your home on behalf of the bank because you missed a payment because you lost your job because that same bank made vast profits selling predatory subprime mortgages through collateralized debt obligations but then blew up the global financial system when those risky gambles failed.
NOW, some of you can't protest. I'm one of you, sometimes. If you're engaged in survival right now, DO THAT. People are out there *for you* tomorrow. You surviving is a win for the protesters.
If you really want to support a protest, though, there are other things that need doing that you might be able to help with. Including but not limited to:
-amplifying the message on social media - sometimes the news will happen *just because* there's a social media outcry first. So boosting news (from reliable sources, please) and hashtags that draw attention to whatever happens is helpful.
-donate to any legal funds, or boost a local legal fund to your following
-child care - do you have a friend or family who wants to go tomorrow but has to mind their child (or other dependent)?
-calling/writing/speaking to your various elected officials
-talk to your own community about why the protests are important to you.
Each of us will find our own ways to make social change, based on our strengths and ability. Stay safe and watch out for each other.
Good luck to those americans protesting tomorrow. I hope there are millions of moments of connection and solidarity.
Here are some things I learned from going to protests from folks wiser than me:
-go with friends if possible, leave with friends, and tell someone at home where you are and when to expect you back
-don't bring your phone if you can help it. Do keep a phone number for legal information in case you're arrested somewhere (ppl at protests I've been to write it on their arm)
-wear a mask: this helps keep you and your comrades safer from illness, but it helps you keep your anonymity. Likewise, wear clothing that's non-descript, and comfortable enough to wear if the weather changes or you're put in a too-air-conditioned cell
-keep your wits about you. Protests can be loud and confusing, so having a plan for what to do if you and your friends need to leave, and pay attention to what's going on around you, listen to what organizers and fellow protestors are saying around you.
-travel light, but bring water, any first aid stuff you might need, and maybe a snack or two.
Remember this is a marathon, not a sprint. Even if this is the biggest mobilization ever to mobilize, history isn't made by one event, it's made by a succession of events, one after another. Protests are good for building community, affirming values, making new connections, grabbing media attention, and a few other things, but they are only one part of any resistance movement that will include direct action, mutual aid, and more. Don't be disappointed if after a long but empowering day you don't see the changes right away. Instead, rest up, then find something to do next, using the connections and community you forge tomorrow.
Good morning, I wish all the anti-queer bigots a very terrible day. And I wish all the wonderful queer people a spectacularly lovely day.
Russians who hate Putin, do you want to hold hands?
Unsanitary Practices Persist at Baby Formula Factory Whose Shutdown Led to Mass Shortages, Workers Say
—
“Persistent leaks” and “unaddressed contamination issues” are among the problems workers say they witnessed at one of the nation’s largest baby formula plants. “I can’t have this on my conscience,” one told ProPublica.

@witix @njion @Ghostie7649 and in my experience minimum wage requires people to have to live together in order to save anything for the big purchases. Living with your parents, roommates, or a spouse or significant other - or else you can't afford a car, or college, or save money for a house, or kids, or retirement. Forced economic cohabitation.
what makes someone want to find an excuse to choose death for their neighbor?

asking for my friends of friends who want to flee to somewhere that doesn't have fascism simmering in a pocket somewhere.
idk, seems more like coming of age and then deciding to try to be a tourist instead.
(Not talking about brown academics or black trans ladies, but there's a lot to be said for a wild goose chase or hide and seek champions.)
