This is just one of those archaisms that some people insist on - like watch guys who insist that their watch displays the time when their arm is by their side/under their cuffs.

@sortius I straddle both these worlds - I’m a city boy in the country who misses that ability to just walk the streets while loving the fact that I am maintaining a little patch of rare ecology.

I’ve kept chickens, been friendly with pythons (not especially reciprocated) and take care when out at night in summer…
