@ErikUden Give them an A if they’re in favour of it…
Burned out Queer Greenie. Aussie with an English accent. Avoiding dealing with *gestures at everything * by concentrating on regenerating one small patch of riparian rainforest in NSW.
@tabmcleo Every Aussie of a certain age is thinking of this…
@stilgherrian Not to mention all those unnecessary Zs that USians still adore using instead of a simple S.
@godpod Fish, frogs or blood?
All of the above might be nice especially with an extra helping of Moray eels…
@janeadams I thought baby Jesus laid the eggs…
@Bellingen Following the Campbell Newman playbook as expected.
They’ll probably declare fire ants a protected species next, after all they had almost been eradicated when Newman cut the funding. Now they’re spreading across the NSW border…
Can-do was a cunt. What further delights will Fuck-up Crisafulli bestow upon Australia?
#QldPol #Auspol #LNP #Swearing #Environment #InvasiveSpecies
@Kierkegaanks Why do USians call land-based tortoises “turtles”?
@daringfireball Hands up everyone who writes a double storey a in longhand!
*tumbleweeds*
Thought not…
This is just one of those archaisms that some people insist on - like watch guys who insist that their watch displays the time when their arm is by their side/under their cuffs.
@sortius I straddle both these worlds - I’m a city boy in the country who misses that ability to just walk the streets while loving the fact that I am maintaining a little patch of rare ecology.
I’ve kept chickens, been friendly with pythons (not especially reciprocated) and take care when out at night in summer…
I’m quite enjoying the tension between those worlds tbh
‘What was it actually that drove us to follow [Hitler] into the abyss like the children in the story of the Pied Piper? The puzzle is not Adolf Hitler. We are the puzzle.’
- Heinrich Jaenecke
@jimbob Nuke them from orbit… it’s the only way to be sure. @coolandnormal
@coolandnormal USian wwoofers at our place were shocked, SHOCKED, that we dried clothes outside on the line.
The fact that we have a tumble dryer and only use it grudgingly during the wet seasons merely fixed in their minds that we were weird mediaevalists.
Sussan Ley has always looked for a political narrative - the only one which has remained consistent is she doesn’t truly believe in anything.
Which makes her perfect to lead the leftover Liberals

Sussan Ley is yet to make her ...
@benno He’s going to let everyone else do the hard work then sweep in when there’s finally a good shot at getting in to government.
Long may it not be his time…
@TheConversationUS Bummer for everyone a teensy tiny bit different.
Will they start rapping left handed kids across the knuckles with rulers again and burn the odd redhead at the stake to improve educational outcomes too…?
@DropBear Tony Benn (UK Labour’s Minister for technology at the time) regarded Whitlam as middling right…
I suppose it’s all about perspective but I can’t imagine Aussie Labor ever supporting universal health care or education, perhaps because they never actually have.
See Catholic schools and hospitals…
