In a survey of 1,000 hiring managers, 59% say they emphasize AI’s role in layoffs because it “is viewed more favorably by stakeholders than saying layoffs or hiring freezes are driven by financial constraints.”
Only 9% said AI had fully replaced any roles.

@Doomscroll I think that people who make things have a sense that doing it right, to the very best of their ability, without cutting corners, is the path to a profound respect for other people, which we all need (and which seems to be in such short supply these days).
It’s also the road to gratitude, to telling the universe we are grateful to be alive and grateful for humanity, and we want to contribute our most inspired and careful work so we can say thank you, over and over.

It is a little bit of an irony that on the App Store, in aggregate, the faster everyone can build, the slower they can release.
That makes me think of the negative network effects, as described by @asymco about cars: you need everyone to have a car to justify building roads. But, the more cars you have, the less practical roads are.
Last time I had a critical hotfix release submitted, it was approved instantly after the press of the "expedite review" button, leading me to think that those are automated.

The App Store is becoming a wild place.
I wonder how long they can justify this bottle neck, before:
a) massively automating their processes
b) BENEVOLENTLY opening iOS to alternative distribution models

@helge while the iPad did gain in freedom with '26, it is still crippled by arbitrary OS limitations (background processes, etc...).
There is also a distribution problem, indeed. Those are not mutually exclusive :)

Honestly, this helped hold back my wallet the most.
@dimitribouniol the new M5 Max is allegedly over 100% faster (!) in multicore than my M1 Max.
Easy to justify.
But the software…
