How do cells decide when facing a symmetric junction?
The membrane oscillates exploring both directions until one arm wins.
TLDR: this depends on the actin cytoskeleton & cancer cells decide faster than healthy cells

The picture also shows cells migrating in vitro over micropatterns that mimic the same situation.
