Person who made a career out of liking Power BI. Just a nerd who plays with data. I do other stuff too, such as playing the Ukulele and doing some 3D printing, but I'm here mostly just for Power BI.
@ChrisHunt @cl
I have an invite code now if you still need/want one? π
@ChrisHunt @cl
Only just though! I feel bad...but apparently not bad enough to not use the code. π
If I get an invite code I'll check in with you first.
@cl I'd be interested if it's still available? π
I wrote an intentionally vague prompt to see what it produced. #midjourney #linkedin
If it works, it works.
Don't question it.
Don't try to improve the performance.
Don't touch it.
Don't even look at it.
It works.
If you're worried it may stop working at some point, just get a new job before it breaks.
Every single βsoftware engineerβ I know who has ever over-valued their own work over blue collar work has, without fail, turned out to be MAGAs or incels. They tend to be the people who have their self worth wrapped up in their compensation and status, and are quick to anger when transit workers or delivery drivers, who work long hours in ways that are taxing in every way, break their narrative for themselves

I'm looking forward to meeting @datarocksnz and enjoying a chat about data visualisation and Power BI.

I bought disappointing peanut butter. Devastated.
New word.
Slogress.
Slow but meaningful* progress.
*meaningful is optional.
I was on Episode 25 of Sekou's #TenMinuteTuesday.
I enjoyed both the chat with Sekou, and the challenge to actually be concise for once in my life!
Watch it here. β¬οΈ

If you love a bit of data visualization, and enjoy people who refuse to use their own face as social media avatars, I can highly recommend you join me and @datarocksnz for a live stream this Thursday, 21:00 CEST.
@Sqlgene @sqlchick These are the reasons I don't like it. It's just a way to draw attention that isn't due. Your example of LOL is accurate. Everything through online communications needs to be exaggerated.
LOL = mildly amusing
Literally crying right now = I may have smirked
I'm ageing and grumpy, I know.
Writing 'hot take' doesn't mean your take is actually hot. Actually, writing this usually means it is mind-numbingly vapid.
π΄ Live Stream π΄
In 7 hours I will be live with @greggyb!
Greg likes to talk about DAX, data, Power BI, and analytics, so join us as we chat about 3 of those things!
One day people just woke up and decided their LinkedIn posts needed rocket emojis.
"Datavis peacocking". Is that something I can use to refer to colour added unnecessarily to data visuals? Is there a better term that already exists?
One of my favourite things to do is chat. This sometimes results in a less than data-centric live stream about data, but I think it's pretty good fun anyway. Maybe it's more of a chat show?! π
This week you can join me as I chat live with Greg Baldini. Come along and see if you enjoy it. If you do, there are about 70 previous episodes for you to watch!
