first of 4 ref images for my sona pumpky. this one is her undead humanoid form. the background and text color is orange to distinguish it from the other set of reference sheets.

she is a short at 4 foot 5 inches, pale grey skin, short black hair, black scelera with blue eyes and limbal rings, jagged mouth, pale blue horns on her head that are cracked (one of them cut short, like hellboy), another pair of pale orange horns on the sides of her head, also cut short. she's wearing a white tattered dress, orange and black striped leggings, and black boots. she has small black bat wings and a black devil tail with little spines on it. she is holding fire in her hands.

also on the sheet is her witch hat and broom. the hat has a huge brim, dark blue fabric around the base, the stem of the hat is long and zig-zagging with orange and black stripes. the broom is black with a dragon torso carved into the base. the broom can split into two pieces, doubling as a pair of daggers.

Pumpky is a female dragon/human chimera born from alien experimentation. Through premature death and subsequent resurrection, she became an alignmentless imp (lesser demon.) The nature of her draconic biology makes her age slower than standard humans, she is 200+ years old and is considered a young adult. She is a skilled apothecarian and a witch specializing in fire magic. Very scientifically smart, but also chooses to be silly and childish on the daily.

this second reference image is a continuation of the first one, now showing pumpky's dragon form after becoming undead.

her dragon form is long, has 2 arms and 6 legs, and her wings go from her shoulders to her tail (like a DnD brass dragon.) her scales are black with a white underbelly, the webbing of her wings is a desaturated sunset gradient. she has a pair of desaturated blue horns that curve off of her head, around towards her jaw, then curve into themselves below her jaw. her right hand horn is broke halfway down to reflect the state of her horns in her humanoid form. she has a second pair of desaturated orange horns that are sawed off at the base. she has two sets of eyes with blue pupils and limbal rings and black scelera, and the implication of a third set of eyes small and still growing. her mouth is jagged. her arms only have 2 fingers on them, no thumbs. her 6 legs are insect-like with 3 joints. the pointed digits fold inwards to make flat stilts (she doesn't walk directly on the pointed parts). finally, near the bottom of her body, her skin, muscle, and sinew are worn away into bone, and a portion of her tail and wings are reanimated bones thanks to being partially undead.

text states:

She can shift into the form at will in a non-painful (but exhausting) werewolf-like transformation while cloaked in fire.

She is about 10 feet tall, the top side of her wings are black, and she has no teeth/snapping turtle mouth.

the third image in this set of reference images is very similar to the first one. this image shows pumpky's pre-undead appearance. the layout is the same, except the background and text of this reference sheet is blue to distinguish it from the undead appearance.

key differences: her horns aren't broken or desaturated, and you can now see she has a pair of short blue horns that point off of the top of her head upwards, and a pair of orange horns extending out of the sides of her head (located behind her ears) that are shaped like bull horns, with the point curving directly upwards. her white skin is not grey with death and is saturated with life. her eyes have white scelera but her pupils are still blue, just no limbal rings. she doesn't have her bat wings or devil tail. instead, her tail is black with white stripes and ends with a flat blue four-leaf-clover shape. her black, curly hair is longer and goes down to the middle of her back.

this fourth and final reference image is pre-undead pumpky's dragon form.

key differences: her horns aren't broken or desaturated, her wings aren't desaturated, giving way to a vibrant sunset gradient of red, orange, and yellow all the way down to the tip of her tail. the black scelera of her eyes are orange and she no longer has the blue limbal rings. her tail has black and white stripes which weren't visible in the undead form due to the decay to bone. additionally, her tail has the same blue 4 leaf clover shape as her alive humanoid form does.

the top of the image reads: therapy art number 2. i did a few obligations today and i feel proud of myself. right now, i think a majority of my mental health issues stem directly from anxiety. i keep being afraid of how anyone interprets me, or thinking i'm delusional for falling on what is familiar and not allowing myself the grace to just let it pass without intense scrutiny. i think i should just remind myself i have an anxiety condition and stop escalating it with believing i'm imminently going to lose my grip on reality.

therapy art number 1. i'm trying to rehabilitate my relationship with myself. kriiva has been my oc, my sona, my identity, myself, someone else, and my internal voice for a very long time. recently, my disposition towards him has changed to be very negative. i feel like thinking or drawing or talking about him is a vice. it feels like i gave half of my life, my experiences, my memories, my meaning, my everything to a house that was waiting to catch fire. i want to pick up the pieces, but i feel like i can't trust myself to engage without becoming outright delusional.

for context, escapism is my greatest comfort. it is to my detriment. even this drawing itself validates this, because i tried to tell myself to stop appling these meanings to him, but i find myself back here again anyway. i keep trying to move forward, but i have made my own demon. every time i draw him it feels like i give into a compulsive comfort. a vice. a hit of nicotine.

maybe looking at him on my canvas like an animal at the zoo will help.

i just want to figure it out.
