What is your go to liquor? Why? And what do you use it for?
For me, I use ketel one vodka and four roses bourbon for most liquor based activities.
Ketel One is specifically the vodka of choice of my good friend from college who really taught me how to appreciate good liquor and make good company. We didn't agree on much but that's what made time with him so meaningful.
Four Roses is my favorite Kentucky Bourbon. Another good friend gave me a bottle as a going away gift when I left my last job. He encouraged me to move on and find a place that made me happy. He had ambitions too, but needed stability for his family and his bourbon habit. Only person I ever met who moved across the world because he loved bourbon so much.
Uses are limited right now. My fiance wanted to make some vanilla extract and it looked fun so I'm going to make limoncello and maybe I get back into tincture making. I used to do it more with bottom shelf stuff, but now I can afford some better ingredients.
The bourbon is really good for bringing me home. I travel a lot and I'm more of a beer and wine guy, but a shot of Four roses makes me feel at home drinking and dancing with my fiance to some poppy trash with a good beat. It grounds me so much it has a dedicated spot on the altar as a flower holder. That and I thought it was funny to put cut roses in a four roses bottle.
I like the taste of rose water. I wonder what a rose tincture would be like.
