@zoviazzg I hope you can get your setup fixed! There aren't enough people filling the CRT niche on hereβ€”I'd be doing it more often if I was less busy with life things. Will definitely check out your music too. Best of luck on all fronts, you are a valued presence on here!

Today I released my second #MIDI album (of a planned trilogy) and I would love for you to listen to it!

Like my previous album, it was made with the trial version of FL Studio, a cheap MIDI keyboard and a hearty helping of human ingenuity.

It's free! But you could also buy it on #bandcamp.

Do you like FM Synthesis? Me too! So I rearranged the whole album for #OPL3. Here is a youtube playlist:

Now, for some bad news..

I'm sad to report that my CRT posting is on indefinite hiatus after today, due to technical problems. I've been troubleshooting for a week and am at my wits' end. My method to connect to my CRT has stopped working, on two PCs, due to, I assume, a Windows update and/or Nvidia driver update.

My transcoder no longer gets detected properly and my CRU .bins now put the PC into a black screen death loop until I unplug the CRT. I've tried everything I can that doesn't include just wiping a PC and starting over, which is the next step. If a clean Windows install isn't enough, then I'll have to try Linux.

I'm not particularly up to the task at the moment, mentally, emotionally or physically, so I'm just going to take a long break before returning to it.

I'll still be here, and maybe I'll find something else to post, but I may have photographed my last CRT.

I've loved sharing my special interest with you! You're all wonderful, and have warmed my cold heart.

Love and solidarity, comrades.

Remember the #gameboy #pixelart Jam last Oct?πŸ–Œ

One of the writers for @gbstudiocentral printed out all the submissions to be shown at an exhibit in Lisbon, Portugal! πŸ‘€

How cool is that?!
I'm honored to be part of it! πŸŽ‰

@beisbolcards It all reeks of such desperation. If everything wasn't built upon this unrealistic model of infinite growth, we could all still have access to quality entertainment in perpetuity while the unfathomably rich could remain (minimally less) unfathomably rich

Baseball could fix its massive revenue problem by making access to the sport easier and cheaper than ever for the average person, thus generating more interest exponentially, but dinosauric thinking will never allow this to happen

The x86 edition of Windows 7 was the last revision of Windows capable of running classic 16-bit games and software. It's also so much easier to run and maintain than Windows 9x/NT/2000 or even XP. I'll need to explore this further for my retro collection! πŸ˜‰

In celebration of , here's some of my favorite Mario ROM hacks from the past few years.

Super Ale Bros. Redux: romhacking.net/hacks/8175/

The Beatles Adventures in Pepperland: romhacking.net/hacks/6311/

United Mario Bros. 3: romhacking.net/hacks/8199/

Mario Forever SMW Edition: romhacking.net/hacks/6058/

This series features some of the best hacks ever made, my list barely scratches the surface! Do you like Mario hacks too?

Super Ale Bros. Redux by AleFunky, a hack of Super Mario Bros. for the NES. This is a screenshot from World 4-2, featuring a desert region with some neat custom tiles. This hack includes some fun additions like ability to scroll backwards, grabbing shells and other minor features not normally found in Mario 1. One of the better hacks for its kind that I've ever played! The Beatles Adventures in Pepperland, a hack of Super Mario Bros. 2 by NesDraug. There haven't really been many Mario 2 hacks worth remembering in my experience, so how about a total conversion hack featuring this iconic 20th century quartet? I'm constantly in awe of the creativity poured into this project every time I boot it upUnited Mario Bros. 3, a Super Mario Bros. 3 hack by AlanJacobs. It would be difficult to overtake the gold standard Mario 3 hacks like 3Mix and Mario Adventure, but this may actually be the most fun of the bunch. Incredibly beautiful graphics and catchy custom music, some of the best you'll find on an NES hack period. You owe it to yourself to give this a try if you enjoy 2D Mario games, it's easily the greatest Mario 3 hack from the 2020s in my opinion.Mario Forever: SMW Edition is a Super Mario World ROM hack created by beasteye89. This is a remake of Mario Forever, a PC fan game from 2004. I haven't played the original, but that didn't stop me from having a wonderful time with this. It includes some notable custom mechanics that you won't find on another Mario hack, faithfully ported over from the PC version. This may not be the best ROM hack on the Super Nintendo, but it's still a worthy addition to your collection.
