Mein alter Mann - 75 - nutzt seit 4 Wochen Linux Mint auf seinem Laptop, der nicht Win11-fähig ist. Firefox, Thunderbird, LibreOffice, KeePassXC. Er ist happy und außer den USB-Stick zur Installation und "mach alles platt" war nix zu tun.

Erfahrungen von vor 25 Jahren sollte man getrost mal ignorieren, niemand muss heute seinen eigenen Kernel mehr kompilieren 😜

@rotnroll666 Yes, Vollpension in a club or hotel comes with an ekelhaft price tag, especially as they treat kids from the age of 12 as adults ... assholes.

Family situation is the same here, we usually opt for a house (Sweden, Italy, France) and prefer to cook ourselfes - most of the time.

Lighting up the bbq at sunset while enjoying a good bottle of wine creates more pixelfedable memories for us than any hotel would. But thats just us.
