#introduction
Hello! My name is ShadowTux. I've daily driven GNU/Linux based operating systems since Ubuntu 10.04 after I couldn't login back Windows XP account. Mostly Debian based systems but I've distro hopped much much more distros through out the years. Currently on a NIXOS and Fedora Silverblue journey. My main interest currently are on the communication front like Linux, Hosting stuff, Cybersecurity and all the things Devops
I'm typing here mostly in English but might also type some FInnish between.

I told my husband that posting this could literally take down the instance and he is insisting I post it
We felt we had to make this :FediverseSymbol: 🤭
Edit: Added additional alt text to describe the fediverse symbol 🩷
Edit 2: Added more description to the alt text. Hopefully this is helpful to folks who wanted more details about the girls and the room they're in :HeartHands:

Ingram Micro sell anti-ransomware products and ransomware incident response training btw.
New video time!
A whole lot of folks keep forgetting about closed captions on DVDs, and as time has marched on this means they're getting less accessible.
Here's my go-to cheatsheet for troubleshooting issues in Fedora:

TurkuSec ry would like to wish you a peaceful and calm Midsummer! We will go to a summer break and be back in the end of August.
We had an awesome "spring semester" and massive thanks go to all the community and friends who powered us!
'Meredith,' some guys ask, 'why won't you shove AI into Signal?'
Because we love privacy, and we love you, and this shit is predictable and unacceptable. Use Signal ❤️
From another angle, it looks like the top tank (there's a top and a bottom tank) detonated first, which would make sense because that's the methane tank; the bottom tank is oxygen.
Soooo, essentially the front fell off.
The top two cameras here are at Massey's test site, the bottom two are at the Orbital Launch Pads about a 5 minute walk from Boca Chica Beach.
Signal is not a perfect product. There are many valid gripes to be had about Signal.
But practically everything that tries to compete with Signal, or claims to be "more private" than Signal, has failed to meet the bar set by Signal's cryptographic security.

When someone pipes up in my mentions to suggest that XMPP or Matrix or GnuPG is somehow "better", I'm going to respond with severe prejudice.
I don't tell people to use Signal because I nceessarily like Signal or agree with their product decisions.
I tell people to use Signal because the alternatives people keep fucking evangelizing have inferior cryptography to Signal's.
The biggest vulnerability these alternatives have is simply having any sort of plaintext mode to begin with. Unacceptable.
I don't care if it fits your use case better than Signal. As someone who cares about cryptography, security, and online privacy, I will not recommend it unless it's at least as secure as what Signal offers.
Instead of evangelizing to me or my friends, advocate for the other products to ACTUALLY be as good (or better) than Signal on security.
Until then, I will not be kind.
Just be nice whenever you can, and weird whenever you can get away with it
I'm going to reiterate my positions on End-to-End Encryption since they seem to have been ignored or overlooked:
The difference between weak encryption and security theater is how the product is marketed to end users.
Security theater is bullshit like, "This tech is private because our datacenters are in Switzerland," or, "We can recover your private keys, silently, whenever we want."
Security theater gives people the illusion of security, while they're actually vulnerable. This is the worst outcome.
Regardless of how flawed your approach is, as long as you're humble about it, it's better than not trying anything to begin with (just shoveling plaintext).
But the moment you let an ounce of arrogance or pride infect your marketing copy? The moment you're not just underdelivering on privacy, but also overselling on it?
That is when you cause harm.
@kev If you press F1 or F2 (don't remember which one) you should be able to see what it's waiting for. Searching that might help with finding the solution.
The timeline in the "SEC Consult SA-20250611-0 :: Undocumented Root Shell Access on SIMCom SIM7600G Modem" advisory is mind blowing:
you are a fucking EMAIL CLIENT you can't say that shit
