Autumn in full flow… The River Braan at The Hermitage in Perthshire, Scotland.
@hauntedhideaway both my mum and my grandmother said "pill" and I haven't heard it in years. It's the perfect word.
@Bronwyn I follow some of the Instagram / Threads engineers to see how they're using it and I've seen them using hashtags at times ... My guess is they're trying to reduce the server loads by delaying this feature, but that's a wild guess.
@Amitha how useful!
@Bronwyn I'm also wondering the same about hashtags
@hauntedhideaway perfectly said thank you
Pay attention to school board elections. Pay attention to attempts to restructure curriculum and ban books from school libraries/curriculums. Participate in school matters. What happens in schools is what's going to happen in public libraries. If you're not currently facing attacks on your public library, you're about to, if this is happening in your school district. They have a script, and they're following it. We need to organize as much as they are organized, we need to fund ourselves as well as they are funded, and we need to step in and disrupt the flow. If you can't do it for your schools, do it for yourselves.
@brendan @bookstodon Brendan, thanks!
I’ve been compiling a list of recommended science-fiction books.
Check it out and feel free to add yours—> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16jo7x3cmkQdhpwi8cy5SJcHrLYZJXVZhgabKWtznf-c/edit
@KMTaylor @bookstodon oh agreed .. No octopus ever. How brilliant that there will be a sequel!
A super "Science Behind the Fiction" event at #PortobelloBookFestival with #DougJohnstone (THE SPACE BETWEEN US) and myself talking about FRIEND ME.
We chatted about writing sci-fi proudly, how other writing like journalism affects our fiction, and the joys & terrors of Enceladus and AI. Thrilled to hear the sequel to Doug's book is out next march. Sci-fi forever!
